Okay.....
Just called for my Illluminations cruise for upcoming December trip at 6:59am. All were booked already however she offered the "Wishes" cruise leaving from the Grand Floridian so I grabbed it!

Who has been on this one?? Can anyone tell me about it??
How are the views of the fireworks....can you hear the music from inside the MK etc.....

Any help would be appreciated!
Thank-you!

I would really like to know the answers to these questions. My timeframe for booking is coming up this weekend. We are leaning toward the Wishes cruise over Illuminations. I'd love to hear feedback from anyone who has done the Wishes cruise lately.

Thanks,
Melanie

We did the Wishes cruise in May. I thought it was very enjoyable. The driver took us on a tour around the waters after picking us up at Wilderness Lodge. The view was great! The music is iffy. I believe it all depends on which way the wind is blowing. We could hear it somewhat but not clearly. I do have to say I enjoyed the view better than the Illuminations cruise. You are basically parked under a bridge and although you can hear the music just fine, I thought the view around the world showcase was a bit blocked. Just my two cents. Have fun!

Thanks for your reply. I do remember reading in the last few weeks that Disney was going to "pipe" the music for Wishes onto the pontoons. Has anyone been recently that knows if this is true? I still think I'm leaning more towards Wishes.

I was going to ask if it is a pontoon boat. How many people do they hold? Not sure of we cold do one anyway beacause my 2 Yo DD was terrified of firewroks noise on July 4. Im thinkig we'll have to be far away in the park too.

ugadog99 -- This is what I've been told about the music. The CMs have told me that they were working on it, but they weren't sure where it was in the process. My trip is early December, and they said it should be done by then. Hopefully someone will report back who has actually done it. I would go ahead and book it. When I get back, I will post about whether we had the music or not. (But that's not until 12/6.)

2Disneybuggs -- Yes, it is a Pontoon boat, and they hold 10 adults (I think) or 12 people if you have children.

If you're afraid that is too close, you might try watching from the Contemporary Resort on the 4th floor observation deck. You wouldn't hear the music (unless you really, really listened and the wind was blowing right), but it's a beautiful view of the Castle. I would think the fireworks would be gorgeous from there.

Most pontoons hold up to 12 people. I believe someone posted that a couple of them are smaller and accomodate up to 8 people but 12 is the norm from what I have read and been told from CM's.

I have a question -- are the Wishes cruises like the Illuminations cruises in that you book a pontoon just for your group? Or is it a shared cruise with a certain number of people (like the safari at AKL or Family Magic Tour at MK)?

TIA!! :)

NOw I am concerned..........
Do they HAVE Wishes everynight in December ?? Mine is for Dec 13 th which is on Monday. MVMCP is on Tuesday. Will they even have Wishes on Monday ?? Maybe that is why I was able to book it so easilly ??

I think some of you are confusing the "Wishes" cruise with the "Magical Fireworks Voyage" which they do pipe in the "Wishes" show music. The Latter can only be booked thru a "Grand Gathering" where you have atleast 8 people in your party. check out the following link re:this.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=474814&highlight="magical+fireworks+voyage"

It is reviewed along with other Grand Gathering products. I did it and it was terrific!!!! Worth the $$

From what I have read, originally the music was piped in only for the Grand Gathering Wishes cruise. However, they have been working on the music for all the Wishes cruises. I am not going until December 17. The cruise I really want is for Christmas night. However, I will be calling earlier in case I don't get Christmas. Hopefully, someone will be back soon and let us know if the music situation has been taken care of.

I have the same question as DiznEeyore..."are the Wishes cruises like the Illuminations cruises in that you book a pontoon just for your group? Or is it a shared cruise with a certain number of people?"

Also...when and where do you call to book?

Thanks all!

I signed up for my first one for November, but I think I can answer a few questions.

The boat is a pontoon boat and can hold up to 12 people.

This is just like Illuminations, as the is just for you and your guests, unless you want to share it with others.

The cost is $117, plus tax & tip (without food catered)

Call 407-WDW-PLAY to book one. You can call up to 90 days prior. You will need to supply a credit card to hold the reservation. The credit card will not be charged unless you fail to cancel. The cancellation policy is 24 hours prior to cruise. The driver will receive your reservation, but not any payment information, so you will need to pay the driver when you arrive at the boat.

Hope this helps!

Yes...Turk-1....that is how I believed it to be also....

I want to know what happens if there isn't Wishes scheduled that night though ??

Does anyone know if it runs EVERYNIGHT December ?? MVMCP is the nights before and after my scheduled night.

Thanks for any info!
