What are they giving out right now? I dont really need to sit and talk to them about DVC in general but I might swing by to see if I can get what they are giving out depending on what it is.

We got ours at one of those outside booths at Epcot last summer, we happened to stop near there to regroup with our party and I struck up a convo while we were waiting. The CM handed us a couple without me even asking.

During our May trip they were giving DVC magnets with Dumbo on them.

Pretty sure it's the crossbody bag. It's larger than I thought. I like it. I can say my husband wouldn't ever choose to use it, but I like it for me. You can get it by attending the member update, I signed up but then when I asked to see the Bungalow at Poly that required meeting a guide and since I did that I got the bag and didn't go to the member update.

Various places. I had booked ours at RIV, but I know it was also at SSR and possibly Poly.

You book it at the many kiosks they have in the parks or in the resorts. I’m not 100% sure if resale qualifies. I’m thinking possibly not.

since I didn’t go I’m just speculating but I think it’s to also talk about how to exchange points for Cruises and ABD and other non Disney destinations.

I am sad I was too shy on our trip last week to ask at any of the booths and missed out on the Dumbo magnet.

I did, but that wasnt too effective, although they did give me the Dumbo magnet!

Others have said striking up a conversation first usually leads them to give you stuff before even asking. I will try that next time!

Maybe ask about Lakeshore Lodge if you're too shy to ask. "Do you have any information on Lakeshore Lodge?" They don't, but they will probably ask where you own now and then probably ask you if you want the magnet. I specifically asked about coasters because I read that someone got coasters and that's something that I would actually use. I popped into the office (in the Grand Californian) on my way to my room and asked, "Are you giving away coasters? I heard that some people got coasters recently." They gave me the coasters and a bunch of other stuff.

I'm resale and got a call a couple days before our recent trip from a rep mentioning that if I attended one of the Member Updates that I'd get a cute gift. It's a sales pitch, they want resale owners to hear it too.
