A couple of years ago I bought the Xyron PCS and I've not really done much with it :guilty: despite having some good books, including the book[plates/tags one and teh 2-book "month" set (by some designer whose name I forget). Part of th reason is I have to get it out and plug it in, also I find the card often slips part-way through cutting, and I have to cutcard to fit etc. etc.

Now, I don't have a dedicated scrapping place, but I DO have a computer and all the gubbins on a workstation which is now less cluttered as we have new system with fewer, smaller speakers and base unit (and fewer wires), so I thought if I had a wishblade I might do more with it - particularly titles etc. Its a big investment, but I figure I'd use it more (so it would be more worth it) and in the long run might be cheaper than using expensive printer ink to print out titles. I'd have to save up big time, of course.....

What do you all think? I could e-bay the Xyron maybe to cover part costs.

I have a craftrobo Pro (a upgrade wishblade) and I love it. I do use it regularly for titles and such- you have many of the titles I have cut with it from swaps.

The craftrobo, wishblade, and shiloutte are all the same machine made in the same factory with different nameplates. The shiloutte comes with some design cards but works basically the same as the other. The main difference is the software you use with the machine. I would reccomend looking at what price you can get on each of them and going with the cheapest. There are many sites where you can buy files for the machine as well as making your own and there are a number of yahoo groups that have people who offer free files for the machines.

I love mine (although I wanted the larger cutting space and the ability to cut through thicker things so I returned the craftrobo and got the pro within a weeek of recieving it).
I reccomend looking at the information out there on each machine as well as the prices for making the decision. I use more files that i buy than I make other than simple titles and sometimes creating paper piecings with the autotrace program. I know if I ever downloaded inkscape I could do a lot more (it is a free program) but I find it easy enough to do what I want in the main craftrobo program so I haven't bothered.

:confused3I thought the big selling point was that you didn't have to buy extra stuff (like carts):sad2: Maybe I need to think again.

You don't have to buy extra things- like the files but I find it easier to use the premade ones than to make my own many times. Most of the files I buy are about a dollar for a few different cuts.
