Hi,

Mom & I have decided to take a 4 day cruise & go to Vero for 4 days. Sail date would be the 5/15/05-5-19-05, is that right?? So Vero would be 5-19 leaving on 5-24. How does that sound?? how is the weather? Can I get a room @ 7 months. Thanks!!!

I booked my 4 night cruise through DCL with $700 early booking discount. I have to wait until after may to put another countdown in, but that's okay. I haven't been on a cruise since November 2002. So now I have wait until October 25th to book Vero. Also hoping for the one night before cruise @ AKL, GF or POR!!! We've found it easier for cruise check in.

We are going this May 24-31.

I will let you know how the weather is, etc.

We booked last month, I think. I don't think you will have any problem booking at 7 months.

You're going to love it.
:D

My DW and I were there last year during roughly the same week.
The weather was three words....Fab - u - lous.
Probably high 80's with a sea breeze, which was nice because we had just come from 6 days at WDW and a couple of those days were extremely hot (mid 90's).

We loved the resort and can't wait to go back.

My only word of caution...be cautious when selecting a chair by the pool. Some people are very possessive of their territory.
I witnessed a rather ugly exchange where a couple with two children had left their chairs with nothing left behind to indicate people were using them other than a few crumpled standard issue white pool towels. They had been away from the chairs for at least 45 minutes to an hour and then were extremely rude and nasty to four senior ladies who had sat in "their chairs". It amazes me how people on VACATION can be so uptight and unpleasant. Made me wonder what they must be like on a normal week.

These people are the unwelcomed exception thankfully, and I'm sure you will enjoy your stay. :sunny:

*PS - If you like seafood, try the conch fritters. They are truly some of the best I've ever had.

We were there three years ago the first week of May. There had been a drought before we arrived. Well, the drought broke on our second day there. Rained heavily a couple of days. Cloudy a couple of days. Sunny a couple of days. Temps were high 60s to 70s. Too cool a couple of days to swim (for me anyway). Windier than Orlando due to the coastal winds. Even the rainy days weren't too bad though, just sat on the deck and read a book or relaxed in the rockers on the Inn back patio.

It has rained while we were there, also.

One time was either right before or after a hurricane and the seas were pretty rough. The wind was pretty severe. We still had an awesome time.

Last time, we just got the usual Florida afternoon rain shower. We would just go play checkers in the GCR or relax in our room.

...then I offer this opinion as well.

Being a New Englander who loves seafood I was looking forward to the Seafood Buffet they have on certain nights at Vero.
I couldn't have been more disappointed. None of the items offered were anything to write home about and it was rather expensive as well. I wouldn't have minded the price if the food had been better, but such was not the case. I'm sure some may disagree with me but just thought I'd give you my 2 cents.
