Tell me about Vero Beach...

What is there to do there and any day trips of up to an hour that could be done...

Would you stay for 5 to 7 days if it was NOT at the Disney Resort???

I wouldn't stay there for more than a weekend even though it IS a Disney resort. It's fine for a night or 2, but any more than that would seem boring to me. There are others who LOVE it and spend entire weeks there, though!

As for daytrips, there is Kennedy Space Center/Cape Canaveral. I'm not sure what else I'd considered of interest in the area, though.

Captain Hiram's is a fun place to eat...it's about 25 minutes or so away from the VB resort.

DH and I found the food at VB resort to be pretty lousy, so bringing your own food and/or eating off-site is something to consider.

All that said, we're spending the night there this weekend I'm hoping that it won't be too crowded

Hmm, we love the Disney Resort, but after reading ChrissyK's review, I'm wondering why??

Let's see - we actually like the food there. Shutters has a few things on the menu that I look forward to each time we go, and there is a Chef's Special every night.

We also like to do nothing but beach, pool, pirate ship, and mini golf. The kids - 5 and 2 - love going and doing all this stuff with us! There are also events held by Eb and Flo's - some that require parent participation and some that do not - arts and crafts and what not. DS made some friends the first day that he played with all week.

We go in March when we can go to baseball spring training, and honestly, that's the only time we leave the resort property.

It depends what you want out of your time there - we go to get away from it all and relax and it really works for us.
