tell me about transferring points vs one time use points

New here! I'm looking at options for more points for an upcoming trip. Tell me all I need to know about buying and transferring points from another member or buying one time points from MS.

OTU points can be purchased over multiple transactions, 24 points max, $15 per point, can only be used for 7 month bookings.

Member transfer points keep their home resort and UY, one transfer per UY, as many as you want, per rules should be free, can be used at 11 months, can be banked after transfer.

Why, when I see transfer points available on the points/transfer board, does it say "if you have a transfer available?" What does that mean?

They should be available immediately after the transfer is done.

Something you should know about transfer points is that you cannot use them to book online. You have to call Member Services and they book the reservation. That can be a problem if you are trying to book at a popular time.
