So we have added on a night to our trip. Giving an extra TS (which recovers our Narcoosees night)

WE will be in the Magic Kingdom and need to get a sit down dinner.

We dont want CRT (because of 2TS) We have eaten at THe Crystal Palace before. We did not like the menu choices for liberty tree. And we felt like the Plaza was very cheap to use on the dining plan. (we want our best value)

So this leaves us with Tonys. The menu is very appealing to my family (Me 17, mom and grandparents) I looked at some of the food porn for Tonys and it also looked yummy.

Does anyone have any advice on Tonys. If it is a go or not?

THanks

We ate there on June 20 for my birthday. We were on the QSDP so we paid for this one OOP.

The atmosphere is nice. Liked the Lady and the Tramp theme. Food, was just OK. The pasta was overcooked (as in, mushy). I had the veggie lasagna and didn't care for it. The Caesar salad was good. My DH's chicken parm was good, but the pasta under it was yucky. We didn't do dessert here.

All in all, OK but not great. I doubt we'd eat there again.

I know you said that you wanted the "best value" for the DDP, but the Plaza, although less expensive, is really fantastic food and amazing desserts. We eat there every trip and although the bill totals less than most restaurants, we really feel like the food, service, quality and quantity make it a "must do" for us.

We'd pick the Plaza over Tony's any day...although, Tonys is very cute and in a great location, it's food is not as tasty, IMHO.

I agree 100%! We thought Tonys was jusk ok...ate there on our trip last year...but not this year...The Plaza is a must do for us every trip also..Everything is good from the burgers to the sanwiches and the yummy sundaes!

We ate here the first night of our vacation last year. Never again will we eat there. I got very sick on the food. My DD's pasta was hard (not cooked properly). DH's food was "okay". Nothing to write home about. This was probably our worst dinner the entire vacation.

I ate lunch here back in April during my solo trip and the service/food was fabulous! I had a delicious meatball sandwich..and the dessert was a strawberry mousse cheesecake...I would go back just for the dessert...I did think about eating there again for dinner but never had a chance to ... i'd recommend it.

My family doesn't care for Tony's either. The pasta was average at best. I also agree with the comments about the Plaza. We've never had a bad experience there and the desserts are really good.

Sorry, but I hated the food at Tony’s when we went last year. I ordered the baked ziti and it was like macaroni and cheese with Ragu sauce. The flat breads were good but everything else was really bad. I admit since I am Italian and cook Italian I am a bit biased. Service was also mediocre at best. We were out on the patio during Spectromagic and the view was great. With the location it is a shame they can’t do a better job with the food.

we ate here on out last trip as it was the ONE place I wanted to dine at. we did have a nice meal. It's true this is better food elswhere, but i loved the decor and I'm glad that i was able to fulfill a life-long wish. go-ahead - book and enjoy the romance of the place:lovestruc

If you go to Tony's expecting authentic Italian food, you will be sorely disappointed.

But if you go expecting typical American-style Italian food, you'll be fine.

We didn't expect much out of the experience, and made a couple of special requests for how ours was to be prepared, and we were very happy with the experience. The waiter was great, the food was better than we'd expected, and hey, you can't beat eating with a view right out onto Main Street!

First post from long time lurker :) .....

My family actually enjoyed Tony's when we ate there last fall. It wasn't my number one fav but it was still good to me! I had the steak....and the dessert was quite good too!

The food was terrible at Tony's. It was our family's one *miss* this past June.
The spaghetti & meatballs were inedible, the shrimp scampi was soooo oily and had NO flavor.
Do not underestimate the value of The Plaza. We thought the same way...why waste a TS on sandwiches?:confused3 We were wrong! The service was excellent. DH had the steak sandwich and I had the rueben..both were fantastic. The steak fries that come with them were fabulous. And the desserts were to die for. That brownie sundae thingy is just crazy good. My daughter had her first real peanut butter and jelly sandwich (no uncrustable!) and it was in the shape of Mickey Mouse! My son had the grilled cheese with steak fries and ate every bite.

Our meal at Tony's definately was more money. (I can't remember what the exact bill was). Our meal at the plaza was between $70-$80.
I can tell you this...I would spend my TS dining credit on another meal at the Plaza 1 million times over Tony's. To me the credit used at Tony's was a big waste because the food was so icky.

$ for $ the dining plan might be a better "value" at Tony's...but definately not in terms of food quality.
HTH:)

We tried Tony's in November. I know other people love it, but our experience was not great. It was the worst meal of our entire trip - stale bread, mushy spaghetti, brown lettuce in the salads, rubbery chicken parm, & a rude waiter. We aren't in any hurry to return.

Please don't waste a TS on Tony's...mushy, tasteless pasta. I really think that they survive because of the fantastic location.

I enjoyed every dish. My wife and I had great time last year. Me personally, I've eaten there 3 times. I would highly recommend it.

Have a great time!!!!!

We won't go back...Our meal was cold and average...our waiter was rude and rushed us through the meal..he brought the entree rigt after the appetizer and wanted our card when we ordered dessert...I asked if it would make his life easier if we got it to go. I told him I was not impressed with Tony's but he seemed like he didn't care. I promptly crossed the street and filled out a complaint form.

Don't forget about the restaurants in the nearby resorts...
