Is it good?

What should we get?

The main reason I want to go is the cute Lady and the Tramp mug....LOL!

I've heard repeated reports, the latest from one of my closest friends who went, that the spaghetti and meatballs tastes like Chef Boyardee quality and is not worth it. My friend had a really good chicken dish for dinner...not sure exactly but I know it is on the Allears.net menu.

She loved Lady and the Tramp so it was worth it for her to eat there.

I know that you will read on here that it's not that good. And everyone is entitled to their own opinions. So here is mine: We love Tony's. It's one of our favorite places to eat. I don't do there for spaghetti, only because that's not something I would order out. But I will tell you that their NY Strip Steak with roasted potatoes, mushrooms, caramelized onions, and spinach tossed in a warm pancetta vinaigrette, topped with red wine gorgonzola butter and their Eggplant Rotini - roulade of eggplant and ricotta, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese are to die for. These are the only two things I have ever ordered from there, but they are so good. We also like their calamari. We have been there 3 times...and the service was also wonderful everytime. One of those visits we had 10 people, they sat us all together and were very attentative to us. Definately go to allearsnet.com and check out their menus and see if there is something on there that you would like to try. We are even going back on our trip in November.

We went in December and were very disappointed. DH and I both love italian, but neither of us cared for our dinners. There were 7 in our party and we were on the DP, so we tried a little of everything almost on the menu. Nothing really stood out for us and we were there a VERY long time. Service was slow. It took over 15 minutes for us to place our dessert orders (from the time we received the dessert menus) and 20 minutes after that the desserts arrived. The children's ice cream was melted.

We didn't complain or send it back because we had already been in there 2 1/2 hours and my DH was ready to leave, the children were fussy, etc.

I normally don't place too much emphasis on choosing a restaurant myself based on the service reviews as that will tend to vary from server to server. However, IMHO, there are many restaurants with much better food on property.

I've been there twice, in March 2004 and February 2006, and I enjoyed it both times. I thought the food and service was excellent.

Go and try it for yourself...it might turn out to be your favorite!!

On this note - does anyone happen to know if at Tony's (or Alfredo's or Mama Melroses) you can get Spaghetti & Meatballs BUT with NO sauce? Like none at all - even onthe meatballs?

Yes - I have a picky child.
