at the Wilderness Lodge? I thought it would be fun to ride the boat over after a morning at MK & also see the resort. Do you think it is worth the trip? Thanks.

Whispering Canyon Cafe is great fun, with good, but not outstanding food. I would recommend it if you have little ones. Wilderness Lodge is beautiful, and definitely worth a look.

:wizard: We went there a few years ago for breakfast and loved. We made sure we went back the next year and didn't love as much as the first time. The food was okay, but the sevice wasn't too good. Everyone around us had these great waiters that were really into the whole scene, ours was MIA for most of the time. Okay, we still didn't learn our lesson so we decided to go the following year for dinner....we thought it was terrible....bad service, worse food, a wasted dinner. I don't normally bash restaurants in WDW, but our experience there was not good. There are much better places to go for breakfast....just our opinion.

Whispering Canyon Cafe is a wild place! The servers are part time comedian wannabes and there's something always going on. Stick horse races, singing or whatever. It's definitely not a place to have a quiet meal. It's certainly enjoyable for an occasional visit especially for children. The food is basic but quite good, actually breakfast is the meal we like the best there.

Wilderness Lodge is definitely a must see, in my opinion it's one of the most beautiful resorts in WDW.

We have gone to Whispering Canyon for dinner in 2006 & lunch in 2007, both times we enjoyed ourselves. The food was good enough(I say similar quality to any chain we have at home, like TGIFridays or Chili's).

Neither time did we have a crazy waiter, but we witnessed lots of craziness. Both times the waiter/waitress was pleasant and did a good job.

The restaurant is loud, but fun and it is worth taking time to just enjoy the lodge itself. I love that lobby! Last time I just rocked & fed my 4 mo old near the fireplace while we waited for our table. It was so relaxing after being in the MK all morning.

When we went for lunch, it was great. It was only half filled and since we were Canadians our server and greeter gave us a real 'hard time'. The food was good but our service was great! The kids had fun but I had even more. It was a great break from the parks mid day and we left refreshed after a self tour around the resort!!

We went in March for dinner and were seated in the back, away from the main dining area. The food was just average, and our waitress didn't interact with us like the ones we could see just a few tables away.

My mom is sitting here, so I asked for her opinion. I really just hated the place so I thought instead of saying that I'd get her opinion!

She said the food was average, she thinks they seated us in the back because the youngest in our party was 11, and that if you have lots of kids or younger kids it would be a better experience. She also said that if we were to go again and bring my neice and nephew, or even my younger cousins, she would specifically ASK TO BE IN THE MAIN AREA!

I didn't really like the place so I would say stay away, but I'm the kind of person who needs to try things for myself so I say go for it - no matter what anyone says!

Thanks for all the replies! We only have DS11 so thanks for the heads up about requesting the main room. We're going to try it for lunch after spending the morning at MK. It sounds like it will be fun. We've been to WDW before & even went to HoopDeDoo but have not been to WL. I tried to book a room there for next week when the general public room promo came out but they were filled up.
