Looking to try something new and heard good things about The Wave. What's good there? Any bad experiences?

Thanks!

Worst dining experince ever at WDW. We had a DP the first time we went, so we went all out.
The dining selection is very very limited, and honestly nothing made me go "WOW I GOTTA TRY THIS!" I got a steak and it was just terriable. First off it was about 1/4th the size of what an actual steak should be, and it just tasted bad..chewy, no flavor..and the only side it came with was two slices of balsamic tomatoes which were too sour to eat. The deserts were different, and the best part of the night, but then again nothing I could go back for..When walking in and looking at the menu prices you would think it would be a very pleasureable dining experince.

We had a nosh at the bar last year as part of a Monorail Crawl night. We had the Avacado Citrus Salad & the Black Bean Pork Chili. Both were really outstanding. We had one of the dessert trios, I can't recall which one now, but 2 out of the 3 were fabulous...one was ehh... The salad is something we re-create at home regularly.

I would have loved to go back this year, but it just didn't fit with our plans this time around.

The Wave has become a "must do" for our family.

August will be our fourth time.

My favourite is the flat iron steak (we are big flank steak people) and DD loves the Lunguini. The desserts are good, with little tastes of everything.

Enjoy!

Our extended family of 7 tried The Wave for the first time in November and we all agreed that it was one of the best meals we've ever had at WDW, and that's saying a lot! I had the Avocado Citrus Salad like the PP and I had to let my Mom, the salad-lover, taste some because it was so delicious - it was greens with diced avocado and a dressing that had slices of different colored oranges in it - I'm drooling now at the thought. The lamb shank with bulgar-wheat and lentil stew was also delicious.

My Dad, who's hard to please and finicky, devoured the Linguini with Littleneck Clams and Rock Shrimp - he's a native Italian who pronounced it a delicious pasta dish. DD was 10 and ordered the Chicken Pot Pie from the adult menu...she loved it. DH had the Cinnamon-rubbed Pork Tenderloin and was in heaven.

Dessert trios were loved by all of us, even DMIL who ordered the sugar-free trio.

We consider ourselves hard to please, for what it's worth. The Wave is on our must list from now on.

We tried the Wave on our last trip and did not enjoy our dinner. It was the food itself that we didn't like. There were four adults in our party - everyone ordered something different and no one liked their meals. I got the pork and it was just blah - not very flavorful. The one bright spot was the desserts - they were good

We had a great experience at The Wave. Both the filet and the pork were tasty! The service was the best of the trip. DH told me that he wanted to be sure we eat there again next month!

Tried The Wave last year. We loved it. Chicken pot pie was great! My kids loved the desserts. We will be going there twice on our next trip.

Love it!

Had our wedding lunch there. Great food. Great service.
Had dinner there in the spring. Great food. Great service.
Going again in September. :)

I love the filet. And shockingly, I adore the sugar free dessert trio.

Yummy yummy!

This is our new favorite! Got a last minute adr during xmas week 09 and had a great meal..great service! I had the salmon and DH had beef(not sure). The best desserts on property for those who want no-sugar added..trio was amazing! We love the decor and there is a small bar area also. We would definitely return!

We were not impressed with our experience at the Wave. I ordered their version of chicken pot pie and found it to be dry and rather flavorless. DBF had the linguini which was okay. It didn't help that our server was not the typical friendly Disney Cast member and that the ambiance was mediocre. Based on the mixed reviews that we've read about the Wave we'll probably give it a second try sometime in the future.

I'm nervous to try it! Some reviews are great and some are horrible. I'm paying OOP so I don't want to waste money on bland food!

Hello,

We ate at The Wave in January and had a GREAT meal, I had the flank steak with fingerling potatoes and the avocado cream/mousse - it was fantastic. The food here is really good, not too heavy. I will admit that I did find the portions a little bit on the small side, but I think that is because the food was so good!

Desserts were to die for, I had the sugar free selection - couldn't believe that creme brule without sugar could taste so good! Also tried the sorbet selection which was good as well.

I am not too crazy about the decor, although there isn't really anything wrong with it, I just missed some of that disney themeing magic maybe...But it is certainly worth a try, you won't regret it!

I had the sugar free selection as well and like I said, best part of the meal.
Hmm..If you really wanna see it for yourself, and looking at reviews maybe you should just go for dessert since that seems like something people agree on? If thats possible.

Take a glance at the menu the day you go, and see if anything looks like that good stuff that people mentioned!
