We went last night. You get fitted with vests and helmets, and then you walk through a simple set of rooms (I would say “maze” but it isn’t that complex) and watch a VR video.
****SPOILER WARNING****
You are supposedly rebels posing as Storm Troopers, and when they realize you’re intruders, they begin shooting at you (which makes your vest vibrate, like laser tag). There is a lava monster at one point, and radiators make you feel the lava’s heat. There is a button combination to press at one point, and a lever to pull.
Cast members watch you the whole time to make sure you don’t bump into anything or anyone. I kept putting up my helmet every minute or two, partly because I feel more comfortable when I know what’s going on, and partly because it was cool to see behind the scenes.
It’s fairly realistic, and just barely computerized enough that it wasn’t too scary. Nothing really jumps out at you (which I was worried about). Almost everything isn’t “real” except a bench and two droids, as well as the buttons and lever.
It was fun and I would do it again with a different storyline - I don’t think there’s much variation in the SW one to repeat, but someone correct me if I’m wrong!
