Tell me about the trundle beds at POR

I just posted this in another thread....my best friend is there right now with her 17,15,9 and 7 year old. She is in Alligator Bayou with a trundle bed. She said that it is a bit cramped, but the bed fits her 9 and 7 year old just fine. I helped her book her trip and POR is the only moderate that can accomidate 5. HTH!

Both the 9 and 7 yo at the same time??? :earseek:

:rotfl: Oh my that made me laugh out loud!! No either one could fit, but her 9yr decided he didn't want to sleep with any girls(he's the only guy)! They love the resort, and are right by a quiet pool.

I had to sleep on one several years back. The pic someone posted is exactly what it looked like. It felt horrible but we were at WDW and I didn't care. It fit perfectly in front of the connecting door to the next door room. The only thing is it's short. My DH (who was my boyfriend at the time) was going to sleep on it but he was too tall for it. I'm 5'1 and barely fit on it.

Glad my sense of humor still worked at 3:30am :teeth: ;) I knew what you meant (at least I hoped it was what you meant LOL) but had to give you a hard time about the wording hehe :rotfl2:

I agree, they are short. My DD who was 5 at the time slept on it on our last trip. She liked it because then she didn't have to sleep with her brother (who was only 2). He was happy because he got a double bed all to himself, so it all worked out well!! ;)

My dd, then 6, tried sleeping on it on our first trip to WDW in '99. She did fit but found it to be very dusty down there. It got her allergies going. I would consider if the child has any dust issues....maybe you could get an extra sheet and put the trundle on top of that to keep the dust down.

My advice would be to remove it from the metal base. Somehow that makes it more comfortable.

BTW...does anyone know why you can't book the trundle via WDW web site? I have always had to call my AAA agent.

2 can fit on it (but that is for a 2 year old and a 4 year old). They fought over who was going to sleep on it, but actually I think the 6 year old slept on it most of the time.

I am 5'5" and a half and I slept on the trundle quiet comfortably, but after a couple of nights with my daughter who seems to do kung fu fighting in her sleep (must be the Geico commercials) my 63 yr old Mom who is 5'7" took over the trundle from me. We both have arthritis and we were actually quiet comfy on the trundle. My kids were "too afraid" to sleep right by the door, I think they didn't want to be odd man out and have to sleep alone. Honestly though, who knows, I probably could have slept standing on my head in the bathtub, especially after the days we spent at EPCOT. Anyway the trundle was plenty comfy for myself and my senior citizen Mom, we both are fetal position sleepers though so the length of the trundle wouldn't make a difference to either of us.
