Tell me about the pop

We have decided to sneak in a trip in oct to use our ap's. I wanted to stay at akl but the kids have chosen the pop. I have never stayed here before but the theming looks awesome ... Have we made the right choice

We loved pop, much better than all stars even though it's a value, we will be going back when our girls are a bit older to appreciate the theme. I think you willnhave a great time, the food court was also very good

Loved it, great value resort for the money our DD who was 3 when we stayed there loved the themed buildings, Worth the money

I stayed at Pop in 2008 on my first trip to WDW. It's a fun, colourful resort with great facilities: several pools, a big gift shop and a food court with loads of choices. I think DBF and I are going to be staying there for a couple of nights prior to our cruise in September.

We have stayed at the PoP 3 times and have loved it each time!!

Thanks everyone for the replies, the theming looks amazing I was just a bit concerned I would miss the little extras Deluxe resorts offer! but hey its Disney so I am sure it will be fine!

Since we have joined DVC we have stayed at AKV and BCV and to be honest a little part of me misses Pop! The food court is far better than deluxe resorts and the theming is really good

We loved Pop! All the rooms were refurbished last year too, as others have said the food court is great

thanks that's good to know, akl and the gf are my fav resorts ...... But I am so excited now about staying here!

just to bring you down to earth a bit - since you say that GF and AKL are your favorite resorts....you are not comparing apples and apples here..

the pop century is a value resort.....
the GF and AKL are deluxe resorts...
there IS a difference......

to say that the Pop Century is themed is a bit of a stretch....

it's a motel six with a disney face...
don't get me wrong....i enjoyed staying at the pop century, but you should be prepared that it in no way compares to the GF or AKL..

i'm only saying all this so you'll set your expectations accordingly....

if you're expecting GF or AKL, you will be sorely disappointed...

if you're expecting a cute value resort, then you'll be ok...

We are DVC members but if we visit twice a year we often stay at Pop for 1 of the visits. We have just got back from 17 nights in Old Key West and are going again for Christmas staying 3 weeks in Pop.

Yes it is only a value resort, so rooms are smaller but if like us you are using the resort for mainly sleeping, then Pop will be great. Yes AKL is my favourite, but Pop has a better food court and probably the best bus service of any Disney resort.

Just back from Pop. Stayed for three weeks. We had a fantastic time. Stayed in 50s section, halfway between bowling pin pool and main pool. Food court excellent. No big queues. We prefer to eat outside rather than in the food court. Never had a problem getting a table, lounger, washing machine, or dryer. Food very good, excellent Asian Chicken Salad, massive Chicken Caesar Salad, Beef and Brocolli fab, Fish of the Day (Salmon, potatoes and green beans - excellent) Buses first class. Have stayed at all the Values and loved them all but would probably go back to Pop especially as it does not share buses with another resort. Great staff. One bus driver advised us that if we were at the bus stop at Pop we would see the shuttle take off. It was unbelievable.

We have stayed in deluxes and mods - but actually Pop is one of our faves. Enjoy x
