Hi! I see that there are several new restaurants since our 2007 visit and was curious about what they are like.

Sanaa at AKL sounds interesting. Is this a table service restaurant? How does the food compare to Jiko?

What about the new one at Epcot in Mexico? Is that in addition to Cantina San Angel?

Also, the 2 Italian restaurants. Which one is were L'Originale used to be and where is the 2nd one located?

Thanks in advance!!

Sanaa gets great reviews, don't know how it compares to Jiko (yet ;)) though. Hacienda de San Angel is the new restaurant in Mexico. This is in addition to both Cantina (CS) and San Angel Inn (TS). It is very good and only open for dinner. Via Napoli (Italy), is a new building located all the way in the back of the Italy pavilion. It's also very good :) and it's also in addition to Tutto Italia which is the current incarnation of the restaurant that's been there forever (it's changed hands and names a couple times, but the location is the same).

Sanaa is a table service with Indian inspired food. It's somewhat unfair to compare the food to Jiko because it's an apples and oranges situation. Sanaa is a casual, 1 credit TS. Presentation is not as fancy as Jiko, and prices are cheaper. The food, however, is excellent and it's now my favorite non-signature restaurant at Disney. The restaurant's decor is really neat - somewhat African outdoor markety, with big picture windows overlooking the sunset savannah. So you may be able to see animals while you dine.

The new Mexico restaurant is in additional to San Angel Inn. It's called La Hacienda de San Angel, and they built a new structure that juts out on to the World Showcase Lagoon, so it's not in the pyramid building. I haven't eaten there yet, but the food looks similar in style to San Angel Inn, just with different items. So there are 2 TS - San Angel Inn and La Hacienda, and 1 CS - La Cantina, in the pavilion now. And don't forget the new(ish) Tequila bar - La Cava del Tequila!

Tutto Italia is located where L'Originale used to be. I have not eaten there. The new TS in Italy is Via Napoli, a pizzeria, and it's house in an entirely new building they added on the far back side. VN is really good, but the pizza is Italian style (crushed tomatoes - not sauce, a light sprinkling of fresh mozzarella, and a thin crust cooked in a wood burning oven with some char) so it's not what most people are used to eating.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread.. but where is the new tequila bar located? Is it a small or large place? Does it get crowded? Can you get drinks to go?

THANKS :) Leaving on Sunday.. we do not have any ADRs in Mexico but I can not pass up a margarita :)

It is located inside the Mexican pavilion, on the right side as you enter. It used to be one of the shops. It is quite small, maybe 30 tables. It can get crowded, but it has a large, very loyal fan base.
Enjoy
