I've heard the Mummy is a "don't miss" ride, but would like more info! I have no problem with easy roller coasters, Expedition Everest, etc., but things like Rock N Rollercoaster are about at my upper limit. I would skip Mummy if it were just a thrill ride giant roller coaster kind of thing, but is it sufficiently more than that to make it worth it? Does it have any loops? How scary is it??

Mummy is pretty unique in my opinion. Part coaster, part dark ride. The coaster element is similar to RnR--including a LIM launch--but shorter and more tame. There are definitely no inversions, but there is a short backwards portion. The dark ride parts are kinda cool too. My favorite ride at the Studios. If you can handle RnR, you can certainly handle this.

I've never been on the mummy, but for the record had no issues with Rock n' roller coaster, but hated expedition everest!!

This is my all time FAVORITE ride between Disneyworld & Universal !!!
It is amazing !!! It has fire (real fire), bugs, & mummies !!! It is awesome!!!
I am looking so forward to this ride in November !!!! Woo Hoo !!!!:santa::santa::santa:

It's a roller coaster in the dark with a lot of special effects, including fire, mummies, scarab beetles, backwards motion, and a launch. The ride does not go upside-down. The first half of the ride is a slow moving coaster, where the car slowly glides along the track and the show scenes are around you, then you launch into the coaster portion.

One of the coolest rides anywhere,if you can ride RnRc there's no reason you can't handle Mummy.I prefer Mummy to RnRc,it's got a dark ride section and a coaster section with a launch that's not as fast as RnRc.

Slipper....you're a LOT younger than me, and I LOVE The Mummy!...the more "intense" segments a pretty quick so you can scream, grin and bear it!!!!

I adore The Mummy! It's just a hoot from beginning to end with great theming and a fun coaster portion. Don't miss this one!

This is one of the best rides to ride over and over again with express.:thumbsup2 Remember to smile or make a funny face for the camera.:lmao:

i am scared to death of roller coaster. but i can handle big thunder mountain.
are there any real drops in the mummy? is it more like rnrc/everest or big thunder except in the dark?

thanks in advance.

I like EE but Mummy is too much for me. The drop is much sharper and faster, IMHO.

It is closer to RnR than BTMRR. There is a drop that probably feels worse than it actually is due to the darkness.

I'd say it was more like Space Mountain but with a very short launch. I don't like launches at all but the one on Mummy does not bother me a bit.

There are two short coaster sections separated by a stoppage in a themed room, so the whole roller coaster intensity seems less.

An even better comparison. :thumbsup2

thank you all so much for that info. maybe i should try space mountain then. i am not sure i could handle that one even. i don't do drops very well.

but thanks again!

very little air time on the one drop.

you'll enjoy the theme, story line and the ride.

the Mummy roxs........

There really are no drops on Space Mountain.

The biggest drop on the Mummy is like 1/3 the size of the big drop on Everest, the dark environment with fog just makes it seem like a bigger drop.If I had to rank the other coasters with indoor sections based on intensity I would rank Mummy as the least intense,it's a super fun ride and probably tops if I ranked them based on how much I like them.

Intensity rank:

1.RnRc
2.Expedition Everest
3.Space Mountain
4.Revenge of the Mummy

Fun level rank:

1.Revenge of the Mummy
2.Expedition Everest
3.Space Mountain
4.RnRc
