So tell me about the Member Merry Mixers at Epcot? We have the opportunity to attend the 12/2 one and are wondering if it's worth doing. Is there food and beverage? Entertainment? Dish!

We will be at the 12/2 one! When you get in, you fill out a chance for a door prize and get a coupon for a Rice Krispie treat. No limits on the beverages, seems to me some cold ones, and hot cider.

There are characters, a DJ with some dance contests, an area for arts and crafts. There also is an opportunity to buy things, I never looked to see what they are selling, but there is usually a line!

Sometimes there are some Disboarders I've arranged to meet. Those times I have particularly liked.

As you leave, they give one ornament to each family.

We enjoy them.

I would attend at least once and then decide if you want to do future events. If you wait an hour before entering, you will skip the line waiting to get in. Many of the attendees seem to go just for the free stuff and they leave.

Got some free swag and an opportunity to buy limited edition pins - I think they were DVC pins. Kids enjoyed the refreshments and picture taking opportunities with characters. They had dance parties and competitions if you're into that. We stayed about an hour and were pleased, although we spent more time in line waiting to get in! Met some great folks in the line though. I think we'd do it again.

They are usually later in the day, correct? The one day there is one during our trip we will only be in Epcot in the morning :(

Yes in afternoon. Can you change plans?
Unfortunately no :( We have the vip tour guide booked that day and are starting at Epcot > MK because we won't see wishes any other day and have dinner reservations at 1900 Park Fare. Maybe next year :)

In 2014, they were mainly selling pins: early-release holiday dvc, ap, and special gift cards with pins.

In 2015, they had a lot of dvc marketplace items: shirts, pillow, scarf, and the dvc Vera Bradley and Dooney leather bags for a big discount.

Are the characters different than a normal day in the park? I've now got a weekend trip booked so I'll be able to attend and was curious about it.

I haven't booked my MVMCP yet and could do that on my arrival day to go to the Dec. 9th Merry Mixer instead. I've started making my plans for the weekend.

They don't tell us which characters will be there.

We are planning on attending the mixer on 11/25. We Will be at Epcot that day. Since there has been no announcement about the timing of the event, I emailed MS through the website to see if the time of the event is available. This is the response I received:

"We appreciate your interest in attending the Merry Member Mixer for 2016 and will be happy to assist you. At this time, the event information
has not been confirmed. We do apologize for the delay and invite you to visit DisneyVacationClub.com > My DVC Membership > Member Benefits &
More for updates and more details as they become available."

Seriously...23 days before and the event information has not been confirmed? Ridiculous!

The characters are not different necessarily, but they are dressed in Christmas attire. I think Mickey & Minnie and Chip & Dale are pretty standard.

Where is it usually held? I just realized we have 3:30 ressies for Chefs de France for the CP dinner package. Just wondering if we could try going early just to check it out.

If it opens at 3:00, you won't have enough time. You would have to line up at 2:00, enter at 3:00 if on time, walk in and out, probably won't get a Christmas ornament because they won't be giving them out yet and run to France.

Unless you have the first show, I would go after eating. It is not held far from the France and you should not have to wait to get in.
Also, I would call to see if I can get a bit earlier eating time. That's what I would do.

I just spoke with member services. They report just receiving info that the Member Merry Mixers will be in the World Showplace Pavillion from 3-5pm. Hope that helps those trying to plan.

So same place and time as the last couple of years.
