Tell Me About The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow

I took the kids (Tweens) to see it just once. They walked out saying 'what's the point of that?' sort of comments. Then dd14 looks at me and says 'this may be a dumb question but was that a real person or a video:confused3' I smiled and said 'THIS is why the show is worth seeing' you have the chance to sneak peak a television technology that will one day leave us asking 'is that baseball player in our living room or are we just watching it on TV?'

So, my vote is substance=NO
technology=YES

I agree. Did it with my son back in Feb. In that regard, it was pretty cool. Other than that, it was meh. We were given a "paper" with a return time (not one of the FP- type) and showed up 5 minutes before. I would not wait to see it, but if you time your return, it would be a nice break from the heat this summer.

The use of the ticket and addition of benches makes the wait so much better (less worse?) than when it first opened.

We did it twice during our trip last March and the two shows were different. In the first version we saw, Jack was complainingly a lot about the rum being gone. I remember it because I didn't really like it. Then we saw it a second time when friends joined us, and the rum part was out and there was something else instead. I can't remember exactly what it was , though.

Wow. I've seen it several times and it's always had the rum bit in it .... But I had also done Great Movie Ridw countless times before I got the cowboy version...

The only person I have ever met/heard of who is enthusiastic about it is my sister, and that's only because she has a thing for pirates (some may call it a fetish) and will take pirate anything any way she can.

So much better than the previous Narnia. We loved the technology, and the second time loved the details we missed, and watching all the other people puzzle out whether Jack was real or not. Wouldn't wait for it long, but when we were there both times the handed out slips for a certain time. Kind of cool, but you all know I like most things! :goodvibes

I noticed the rum bit was in the show as well and this was about 3 weeks ago.

I dont' even remember Jack being in it. I just remember a skeleton projected on the wall and the wind blowing and stomping our feet...

SEE THIS!

Its by far the worst thing I ever experienced ANYWHERE (detention when I was in elementary school writing I will not... 10000 times is better) let alone at Disney. Its boring, you can't see if its a full room likely, you have to stand inside this box of a room, they they try to force interaction and make some kid say some stuff that makes the show even worse, and the so called "technology" really is something you can wait to see in a better experience. It would be like watching the knitting channel in 3D....

If nobody shows up hopefully they will close it ASAP and think about something else to possibly do in this area. I personally can not understand how this is still around. We had an exit interview about it last July and the couple people in front of us as well as me and my wife said its the worst experience we have ever had. Also to note it was the exact same thing my parents said December 2012 and they expressly told us not to waste our time but we didn't listen

I would remove it from your brain if possible because just having it in your memory is a crime.

I hope I :artist: a good picture.

You painted an excellent picture! And gave me a good laugh too.

I agree, waste of time. It's like there is a preshow with no ride. We left saying... That's it?

Complete waste of time, especially if you're already tired from walking around the park. The least they could have done was add chairs. I was in agony the whole time.

So, you see - you need to see it for yourself. You can't trust the reviews of strangers. I enjoyed it, this guy evidently developed a brain tumor...

Now I don't think it was necessarily *that* bad. Apparently you never experienced Souds Dangerous starring Drew Carey at DHS before?!

Based on the consistent responses in this thread, I'm really glad that in all my visits to MGM the past couple of years, I've ardently refused to go inside that attraction, haha!

My justification was that it was time wasted waiting in line for Midway Mania.
