I'm a Pirates fan but haven't seen or heard much about The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow attraction at Hollywood Studios.

For those that have done it, please share your thoughts/opinions.

Thanks!

Eh. If you've got some time to kill, check it out, but it's not a must-do. You stand in a room and there are some effects and such and that's it.

My family thinks it's worthwile if you've never seen it, and the line isn't more than 5 or 10 minutes.

We call it the pre-show without a show. :)

Not much substance, several people who saw it with us had the same reaction. - "Thats It?"

Saw it once, don't need to see it again.

I think it is well done for what it is. Definitely go see it, if the wait isn't too long.

Thanks for all of the quick replies! Would it keep a 2-year old entertained? If not, maybe I'll check it out why he is napping.

Nailed it.

The show is neither bad nor good and is too short to be some kind of affront for time wasted reasons. But other than some kind of cool visuals and a few jokes, there's not much there there.

I agree with the group. It's fun to see once and if the line is short. It's very similar to the narnia thing that used to be there. Just a room with some special effects.

I don't think it would hold a younger child's attention because everyone is scrunched into a room with not a lot of room to spread out. At that age they would only have the view of other's knees/butts. My DD5 had to be held up the whole time to view it.

Like PPs stated it leaves you wondering where the rest of the show is. I honestly thought we were being released to the rest of the show/ride. I was surprised to be going outside.

All that said though I am glad that we experienced it. I always want to try things atleast once.

Don't ever do this so called misnomer "attraction." I thought for sure it was the preshow to the attraction. But it wasn't. I'd rather ride IASW for three hours straight any day of the week. I'd rather they closed the door and pretended it was storage or something... We had base tickets all day, so we were relaxed. But we actually waited for this since we didn't know what it was. Boy did we want our hour back!

Agree with previous posters. Did it once, won't do it again. If there's nothing else to do, no wait and you absolutely love Pirates then go for it.

Off topic, but the title of your thread made me think of SNL Jack Sparrow Michael Bolton sketch (hilarious despite the explicit language)

We walked by and in as they were closing the door at the end the day last year after walking by and seeing 45 minute waits most of the day. I walked out think....all those poor people that stood in line for 45 minutes for that!! Not something I will ever stand in line for or ever recommend standing in line for. I doubt we would ever even go again if we could walk right in.

Just want to give kudos where its due. Pirates game at DisneyQuest was really really fun! It was a rainy day and a massive wait, and this was the winner chicken dinner of DQ. Kinda pirates meets TSMM 3D on a floating platform in a room for only you and your friends. So at least that is one redemption....

I took the kids (Tweens) to see it just once. They walked out saying 'what's the point of that?' sort of comments. Then dd14 looks at me and says 'this may be a dumb question but was that a real person or a video:confused3' I smiled and said 'THIS is why the show is worth seeing' you have the chance to sneak peak a television technology that will one day leave us asking 'is that baseball player in our living room or are we just watching it on TV?'

So, my vote is substance=NO
technology=YES

If there's no line give it a look. We made the mistake of waiting 45 minutes. Lame!

Thanks everyone! I'll check the wait time. I might do it if there is little wait & DS is napping. DH & DS can chill in the shade.

It might be a bit frightening for a two year old. Even my 11 year old covers her ears.
But I enjoy it. It's not a must do, but anytime I'm walking by and the wait time is under 20 min, I'll go in.
Yes - people walk out of it saying "that was it?", but I think it's because they don't know anything about it and from the outside it looks like something that would be more substantial.
The special effects are pretty cool ... Especially the hologram of Captain Jack on the deck of the ship...
If your a Jack Sparrow fan ... Make time for it.
