The title says it all... for anyone who has been on the tour, what's it like? I read the info on the DL homepage, but wondering about your opinion, which time to go, etc. Thanks!

I haven't taken ours yet--I just purchased the tickets today. You can only buy the tickets 30 days (or less) before the date of the tour you want to take.

The tour takes approx. 2 1/2 hours, and always ends with reserved seating for the parade. The seats are chairs in a roped off area by It's a Small World, and you will have a very good view. While you watch the parade you are given hot cocoa and a gingerbread cookie. The tour consists of stop by the candy shop for fudge, you learn about how Christmas is celebrated around the world, ride the train and sing carols, get to ride on the Haunted Mansion and It's a Small World without waiting in line (as part of the tour), etc...

I have read that people love the holiday tour, and many people think it is a highlight of the Disneyland Christmas season.

The tour is done either once or twice a day, depending on how many times the parade is shown. If it is only once a day, it will start at 4:00 (because the parade is done nightly at 6:30), or if the parade is done twice (like on the weekends) then you can take the tour at 1:00 or 4:00. Many people recommended the evening tour to me, because then you can enjoy the lighted decorations more.

Hope this helps,
Lisa

This Lisa in California will be taking the Holiday tour, too on Dec 6th, the day before LisainCalifornia! Just hoping for non rainy weather! Might put a "damp"er on things.:santa:

Cool! I am so looking forward to this trip and the tour! We are almost there. Is this your first trip to DL around the holidays? We have been there every other time of the year, but never around Xmas.

Lisa
P.S. East Bay Area;)

I have been there during the holidays before, but it has been a few years.
The trip seemed so far off, now it is almost here!

Don't have input in the tour, although I've never heard a bad review of it.

Just wanted to pop in and say from another East Bayer...:wave2:

I know nothing about the tour, but I am am also in the Bay Area, but I am in the north bay. :wave2:

We did this tour last year and loved it. And this is the perfect description. And the seating for the parade is just awesome. It was so nice to have actual seats. Plus we got a special Tinkerbell pin with the year on it.

Oh and I'm in the Bay Area, but I'm from the North Bay.

Ohhhh I want to do this tour!! YAY!!!! Where can I find info on it?? How to book etc......??

Oh and I'm from the Bay Area too! LOL

San Francisco here. :goodvibes

If I was going when I could get the AP discount, I'd want to take this tour, but without the discount, I don't think it will be worth it to me. Singing carols also doesn't sound appealing at all. I don't like to sing under any circumstances (I'm not one to torture others)!

Next year, I'm hoping to do the WDW Christmas tour. That one sounds a bit more behind the scenes.

$59 a person, and there is no "child" price listed, so I am assuming there isn't one.

Hey, DisneyJamie, hello to a fellow North Bay denizen!

When we were ther last year, we saw the families sitting at the parade, drinking their cocoa and looking comfy. That will be us next year!

We'll be doing the tour for the first time on Tuesday, Nov. 27th. AND WE CAN'T WAIT!!!! This is our seventh Holiday trip to Disneyland, and we've a bit more $ in the budget this year. ...I'm not from the Bay Area anymore, but went to jr. high and high school in Palo Alto. Does that count??:) So many Bay Areas here.
