Tell me about the first time you got pulled over

I was in high school and driving for one of the first times--coming back from a football game. My mom worked for the sheriff's dept as a dispatcher and a dear friend of the family was a lieutenant. Jimmy had given my license plate number out to all the cops that evening and told them if they saw me, pull me over and tell me he knew what I was doing. I got pulled over 3 times. I could've killed him--but I must admit that I was always a very careful driver because I knew that Jimmy's eyes were all around me.

My ex husband is a cop and he worked as a training officer for awhile. One morning I was late for work and going about 50 in a 35. I got pulled over and got out my license and registration. Well, it was this rookie's first time on the street and he freaked out when he realized he had pulled over his training officer's wife!

Wow!! You were married in High School?????

Ok..I'll tell.

I was with my youngest Aunt. I was 16 and she was 26 and we were going home from the beach. She wanted me to drive so she could look at all the scenic guys!

Anyway..there was a cop sitting there and I was doing 60 in a 30. The cops turns on his lights and races towards me. I pulled the car over and my aunt looks at the mirror..she says "It's a guy cop..take your shirt off!"

Well, I did and no ticket;)

Let's see, I was 18 and on my way to college. I got pulled over for "following too close in a construction zone" and "speeding or excessive acceleration." I was speeding, but only because I was in the left lane, blocked by a car on the right and saw a car come flying up behind me. I accelerated to move into the right lane when he hit his lights. I got a written warning for the following too close thing and got out of the speeding ticket ONLY because he had to go respond to an accident.

I was doing 45 in a 35 the first time I was pulled over. It was about a mile from my parent's house, but I was living 30 miles away. The officer looked at my registration and let me off with a warning because I wasn't "from the area". I never enlightened him that I had lived there previously for 15 years!

Smarty pants! That was the OTHER time I got pulled over. Twice in 24 years of driving. Not too shabby. Now watch...I'll get pulled over on the way home tonight.

I was 17, 42 in a 25. Thought I would try to get home before I ran out of gas. Little did I know at the time the faster you go the faster you run out of gas...oops...I got the ticket:rolleyes:

 Ya right like I shoud play innocent. I swear if a cop pulls me over that I don't know I will go to these extreme measures to get out of a ticket!! ;)

I was chased down and pulled over for going 42 in a 20. (I still don't think I was going that fast) Well I saw that it was my friend cop so I thought he saw me and was just playing around so I continued to go to my house. It turns out he didn't realize it was me and called for back-up because I was eluding the police. Last time I ever did that!! So of course he figures out it is me when I stop at my house and to embarass me and punish me, he brought me up to my parents door in handcuffs with the siren and lights going on in his car. All the neighbors were looking out the window!!!

I was 18 years old, going down the freeway in Fresno, CA, doing 70 in a 55. Going with the flow of traffic! When the highway patrol officer asked me where my corrective lenses were (I wear contacts, it states corrective lenses on my license) I told him 'In my eyes.' Of course I was ticketed.

I sounded like a snot, I deserved the ticket. Then and now, I have tremendous admiration and respect for law enforcement personnel.

16 - 115 in a 65. Yep, I got the ticket but he did lower it so I wouldn't have a wreckless driving ticket.
Getting the ticket wasn't that bad, facinf my dad was a nightmare.
I have not been pulled over since.

9 months preganant.
Had to pee.
45 in a 35.

No mercy.

Two of the more funny times we (best friend and I) were pulled over. Once we got pulled over for going too slow. BF was driving and she got scared because the cop was behind her. He told us to move over if we weren't going to go the speed limit LOL

Second time in San Diego, she was driving and passed a Sherrif in the right hand lane going 90 mph. It was partly my fault because I didnt think Sherrifs could pull you over on the freeway. Anyways he pulls us over and says " May I see your Pilots License please" BF was freaking out I was watching the two cops laughing in the rearview mirror, I knew we had just got off again.

I was 19 when I first got pulled over for speeding.

Except I wasn't the car that was speeding. Really, I wasn't.

The cop pulled me over a good two miles away from where he said I speeding. I was nowhere near the intersection he said I was.

I fought it in court. I had a map, I highlighted in one color my route, and in another color his route, and where our cars met, that's where he pulled me over.

After I told my story, and after the cop *insisted* it was me, the judge said the decision would be mailed to me. I was the last one to go before the judge that day. Everyone before me lost their case. I didn't have much hope.

When the letter came I was shaking as I opened it.

But it said...

NOT GUILTY!!!

I was so happy! Because it really *wasn't* me that that cop saw speeding.

For once, justice prevailed.

The bad news is, a couple weeks later I got another ticket (my only other ticket). I did deserve that one however. ;)

I was pulled over about 6 months ago, going 35 in a 20 mph school zone. I was a little ways from home and honestly didn't realize that I was in a school zone and when the cop turned on his lights and started following me, I thought he was after someone else! I sped up and switched lanes real quick, trying to let him "get by". It took a few seconds for me to realize that he was actually pulling ME over. I was so nervous when I rolled down the window and started talking to him, my voice was cracking and my hands were shaking. Thankfully, he let me off!

Two weeks ago, however, I was pulled over for (accidentally!) running a red light by a woman cop. I wasn't nervous that time, just irritated that the guy in the truck behind me ran it too but didn't receive a ticket.

I'm proud to say that in my 25 years of driving, I have NEVER been pulled over for speeding (or anything else). My Drivers Ed. teacher nicknamed me LEADFOOT!! Can you imagine?:o

I've been licensed since October of 1968 and have never been pulled over for speeding. Only once was I pulled over and that was for driving a delivery truck on a truck restricted road (I was lost). Just got a written warning for that one in 1974.

The first time I was pulled over for speeding I was 16 years old and had just gotten my liscense. I was going 50 in a 25 mph zone. The thing is, I was driving a red camaro, and it is darn near impossible to go 25 in a red camaro, but P.O.s just don't seem to commiserate. That particular time I had a legitimate excuse, though: my gas tank was on empty and I was trying to get to a gas station before I ran of gas. I couldn't believe that he didn't buy it and wrote me the ticket anyway.

OMG, this happened to me for the first time about a month ago. I was two blocks away from my house. The street I was on is a major street in our town yet the speed limit is 30 mph. You are more likely to get in an accident doing 30 on that road then if you are speeding. The cop said I was doing 47. I don't think so. I was slowing down to make the corner of my street.

When I called the insurance company to find out if this would impact my insurance, the agent told me I was the third person she'd talked to in the past few days who got caught in that same trap.

I'm fighting it. I've been driving for nearly 40 years and this is the first moving violation I've ever gotten. The cop was a real pita too. I told him they should stake out my street in the early evening when there are people flying down it at 60. He said we do have people on your street. I said, well I've never seen anyone. Then he said are you calling me a liar? This was a 20 something year old kid. Give me a break!

It won't impact my insurance rates all that much but it's the principle of the thing. BTW, do I think I was going 30. No way. I would rather live than worry about a speeding ticket on that street.

only once and I was 18.I had just gotten a used car and was using the temp tags till the real ones arrived but the cop did not see that untill it was too late.He said it was a mistake and let me go

Been driving for almost 34 years and I've never been stopped for a moving violation. I'm not a speed demon except on I-95 going to Florida. Or I-40 going to New Mexico. Or the beltway.

Maybe I am a speed demon. :o
