Tell me about the "dark" backwards part on EE

It seems like everyone is mentioning their perceptions of what it feels like... i bet it feels different to everyone. some it may feel like it goes uphill, some downhill, and some just backwards, neither up nor down.

I guess my suggestion would be to call Disney and ask them if you are that worried about it, or, go ahead and ride it once, and when you get done, if you REALLY didnt like it, at least you can say you went on it! That's what im doing for ToT in a week!

either way, i hope you have fun whatever you decide to do!

Does the Yeti appear during the backwards part?? I hate things jumping out at me like Dinosaur. Never again can I ride that ride. I had my eyes closed the whole time and stupid me looked up just as the T Rex appears. :scared1:

After reading all the posts, I just don't know if I should ride this ride. I love BTMRR, Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. I liked RnRc and would ride it again. Mostly because I feel safer inside. I am working up the nerve to do ToT this trip but I just can't seem to get the nerve up to ride EE. I don't like huge drops or heights. I don't think going backwards would bother me, it never has before. I know from reading other posts people don't feel too well after going backwards. What would you do if you were me??? How high are the drops?

If you can ride the other coasters ok then EE is not bad at all, in fact its much smoother.

No, the Yeti is at the very end of the ride and you're going forward. He doesn't really jump out at you but you do approach him pretty quickly, you see him, then he's gone...its very quick but you do get a good look at him as he swipes at you.

Can you request to ride in the front? What would you do if you were being sent to the back of the train and the front was already full?

Thanks!

Yes, you can request to ride up front. If the front is full, you go to a special waiting area until the front opens up again. Riding in front is the only way I'll ever get on this coaster.

Thank you! I hope I am brave enough to ride it!

The only ride I haven't tried at WDW is Mission Space. On EE, there are no huge drops. You keep on thinking you're going to have a big drop because you do alot of uphill climbing, but there are no biggies. I think Splash Mt.'s drop is more intense...lol. I LOVE Dinosaur, and I'm afraid to do ToT again (only done it once). I can't do RnR any longer because I get those intense headaches afterwards (but it used to be my favorite WDW ride before the headaches got too bad).

We got my 6 year old on EE. He loved it! It moves fast, and the ride is so cool. You've got to try it once. Believe me, there are little children on this ride!!!

I think it's only a scary ride because it moves so fast. There are little drops, but nothing major. If you can do BTMRR, you can do EE. It's fast like BTMRR, but it's so much more cooler!!

I can tell you that the backwards part of the ride is FAST. You don't just drift back. And there is somewhat of a corkscrew effect. Both of which combined to give be a headache that lasted several hours after I got off the ride. Enough so that I won't ride EE again.
Should add that the rest of the ride (turns, drops, speed, etc ) was fine. No trouble with any of that.

I'm really a rollercoaster weenie, but I love EE. Rode it 14 times in 90 minutes in May. Tried all the different parts of the train...loved the front. The backwards part it uphill, with a corkscrew effect. It does feel like you are going to flip over, but you won't. I was hardpressed to keep my head back against the head rest. It is a fast ride, with that 80' drop, but the drop curves off to the left so it doesn't feel quite so steep. The view is incredible as you cross over the 'bridge' area and if you are in the front car when you get to the 'torn up tracks' part the view is unbelievable!!

I definitely have to agree with you about the view; it's amazing in both places! From the broken tracks you can see ToT, the Sorcerer Mickey hat, the Swan and Dolphin, and so many other things It's breathtaking and very magical!

OK. SO to clarify.... NO BIG DROPS right? Oh I too am a weenie who refuses to set another foot on ToT. It horrified me. Can do the rest of the coasters though.

No, toward the end there's a relatively decent size drop but its not very steep and you dont get that losing your stomach feeling on it.
