DH and I were discussing Thanksgiving 2005 and thinking about the BWI. I woud like to get a room overlooking Crescent Lake. How hard is it? Is it worth the money? The rate is $370 for wv for next year.

we were there this summer and had a standard view room-- it was incredilbe!! we could see WS in epcot.. watched fireworks each night from our balcony, with a view of the Eiffel Tower!! I enjoyed it more than the noise of the lake and Boardwalk.

Hi, We just returned from BWI. We had a water view and loved it. I loved sitting on the balcony watching all the activities going on.When we shut the door it was very quiet. Have fun.

Be aware that some of the standard views face the front driveway and are very close to the valet area and bus stop.

The only time I have seen complaints about noise in the Boardwalk water view rooms were from posters who said they were over ESPN. Of course, I haven't read every post on here, either :), but it hasn't been my impression that the noise is much of a problem in the water view category, overall. We didn't have any problem w/ noise when we stayed at Boardwalk except for the random family running down the hall or what have you (which happens at any resort)...nothing out of the ordinary.

Boardwalk with the view of crescent lake is currently my favorite place to stay. I have tons of pictures of the Boardwalk in action day and night...pictures of sunsets and the boardwalk lit up.

We got the FLA rate for $306 and it was worth every penny. I would stay there again in a heart beat!

We got "water view" and were disappointed. It was sort of above the courtyard that separates the Inn from the Villas, right near the boardwalk entrance of the resort. I'm probably not describing this correctly, but you really had to strain to see much of cresent lake. Also, the way that the hotel's angles are, people in nearby balconies could see onto our and us on theirs.

It looked like most of the water view rooms would be amazing, but at least when we were there -- this is about 6 years ago now -- there were a few clunkers classified as "water view."

lark, we had to move rooms during our visit (they were installing refrigerators) and initially they gave us a room that youre describing (overlooking the wyland gallery, etc)...we went downstairs and asked to be moved because we didnt feel that it was a 'water' view...they had no problem and showed us a couple of rooms to choose from. we were right back over the boardwalk...

here's a picture of the room they tried to stick us in...

We stayed at the BWV's last year and it was well worth the $$$ for the waterview. The sunrises were just gorgeous and it was so cool to be able to watch Illuminations each night from our balcony. You should be able to get a much better rate than the one you quoted. It would probably be worth it to buy an AP to get that rate.

Wow -- that's pretty funny. That looks to be pretty much exactly the room we got; at most it was either right above or below that room or one room on either side, at most. We tried to move too, but they said no dice. A similar thing happened to us at the YC once. We got a "water view" room that faced the water only if you basically stuck one leg over the railing of the balcony and held onto a storm drain. On that occasion, though, they did move us.

that would be insane if it was the same room, though!

here's another pic...this is from our first room.
