Tell me about the Beast

Looking back at our pictures from March 2015 and comparing them to the new costume, I've got to say that I'm a fan of the new one! His clothes are much fancier and he looks happier. Can't wait to go again in November!

We had new Beast on Jan 23. We, however, were told we could go back to our seats and continue to look around the castle as we pleased. Perhaps because when we were done, the park was closed? We just slipped by the bathroom and left, but we could have stayed if we wanted to.

The Beast was one of my favorite character moments ever in Disney. I'm a huge Beauty and the Beast fan so this was a must for me. I don't tend to take up a lot of time with characters if I meet them - I say a quick hi and take a picture with them and that's that - unless they really get into conversation. Well, since the Beast doesn't talk, I thought it would be pretty short and was just expecting a quick picture and to move along. The first time I greeted the Beast he bowed to me and I think he saw my Beast and Lumiere pins on my shirt - and the photographer also pointed it out to him - well, I got a big hug from him right away. The second time was very similar as I had the same pins on (different trip) but the Beast was very welcoming and hugged me again - I think if you are wearing something that shows how much you like a character it makes it exciting.

We had a 6:30 dinner there in September and saw the Beast with no line. No need to wait until you we're done eating. He did bow to us and pose for a photo. He wasn't that interactive.

That's a good point. I don't think The Beast has ever been very good at interactions. It is really nothing more than a photo shot. He just can't move around well enough

Funny thing happened the last time we met the Beast. We had a group and were trying to get organized for a picture. Beast decided to put his big clunky paws around my wife. He ended up accidentally copping a feel on her right chest! Wife was fine and we knew it was an accident due to the clunky suit and us moving around so much. But she can always talk about getting groped by the Beast.

I saw him in November. We waited 20 Minutes in line after a painfully slow 90 minute dinner (and the food was not good). Disappointed.

I think I like him, too.

I'd never considered just going for dessert. What a good idea! I was looking for something kind of fun for our last night in Magic Kingdom. This could be it. We've done lunch several times, but never seem to fit in a sit-down dinner.

Personally, I think both Beasts are beneath Disney standards, but that's just from looking at photos. Seeing what they were able to do with Chewy, Buzz, even Captain Hook, I'd think they could do better. I mean, they both kinda look like big stuffed animals, basically.

Comparing him to Chewie is a bit unfair. With Chewie, they just had to base the new costume off of an existing one. That's got to be a lot easier than taking a 2-D character and bringing him into the real, physical world.
