I have 7:45 res for BOG so we can see the beast. I'm going to pre-order cupcakes or something only. No dinner.
We only want to see the beast. We have eaten there before and don't want to miss Wishes/the Fireworks that start at 9.

How long is the line to see the beast typically on a Sunday in May?

Does he take breaks like the other characters so that we might have to wait for that as well?

Any info would be great. And if Disney has any plans to add Belle and Beast time because of the new movie, please share.

You can't pre-order dinner at BOG.
It's a regular sit down meal
You can order just what you want though.
He doesn't really get a line, he does take breaks

Ok, good to know. Not a problem. Even when we ordered lunch on a busy July day it only took a few minutes to get it.
I imagine pre-made cupcakes would be even faster.

Super awesome about the line.

And since dinner res are already booked up, the number of people there shouldn't change even with renewed popularity from the film.

Thanks!

The line isn't long, but he does take breaks.

Also, there is a chance, though slim, that he may not be there. I know of at least one DISer this has happened to. They do not guarantee that he will attend.

Just FYI the line can get long if he's on a break. Last time we were there we waited about half an hour between his break and the people in front.

We waited about 20 minutes last week and it almost as much as my sensory baby could tolerate. He took a break right as we got in line. Our reservation was for 7:55 and by the time we ordered our cupcakes, ate and saw the beast, it was almost 9.

Thanks for all this info. Super good to know. Gotta be prepared!
And gotta get that grey stuff. If the line is short, I'll leave the husband at the table and take the kid to see the beast.

You won't get your coupon/pass to see the Beast until you pay. At least that's how it's always worked

Ok. On asst least one of our trips we got a slip of paper after we paid that we had to show to meet him but that may have been when it was new. Can't remember when, just recall having it

This is correct. There have been several occasions when we dined there and he was not going M&Gs.

You cannot see Beast until you are all finished and you have paid. Once you see the Beast, you are to leave the restaurant.

We waited so long to see him, maybe we were just unlucky. Line was a good few people long, and he took a long break, we waited probably about 40 mins, and the interaction wasn't good. Only bad character experience of our trip.

That's a good point. I don't think The Beast has ever been very good at interactions. It is really nothing more than a photo shot. He just can't move around well enough

I agree with this - plus I imagine the costume is quite heavy because of how large it is.

I know, my daughter was really disappointed, she said she felt like he "couldn't even see her" (maybe he couldn't)

We do BOG a few times each trip. This last trip we had dinner twice. We are used to a few quick pics with the Beast and that's it.
Our 1st dinner was just that.
On our 2nd dinner, I noticed that this Beast was more animated and I was so happy. My DS got up there and the Beast ruffled up his hair and had fun with the kids for a bit. I courtesy to him and he bowed. :)
It was fun but that was the 1st time we ever got that particular Beast. He was great!
