I had to abandon these boards awhile back for about 7 months. Before I left, there was talk of an "under $10 store" at DTD. Of course I can't remember the name, I can barely remember the names of my 2 kids.....Is it still there? What kinds of things do they have? Anything worthwhile? Is it a lot of broken stuff, or just things that didn't sell at the parks? Where is it located?

I love a good deal, and I love WDW, so this would be total bliss for me....

It was there when we were there in December. I believe it was right next to Disney Tails. Kind of like an alley way. There is not anything broken. It's just fun stuff. They had (may still have) these grab bags that are sealed up. You don't know what's in them. Just remember everything is 10.00 and less.

According to WDW unoffical guide, it's called Mickey's Mart.

I was there on my last day of my trip (Sept. 30th). It is an alleyway, next to Disney Tails. It has no AC. I think they used to have a garden store in that spot. I found a few bargains--the Princess twist up crayons were 4 for $10 (they were marked $6.50) But a lot of the stuff was not marked down, it was just the stuff you find at any store at WDW. Stuff like magnets, pens, pencils, etc. that costs less than $10. I wouldn't go out of my way to shop there, but if you're at DTD, it's worth looking at the stuff.

We found several deals at this store. We had heard what a good deal the grab bags were and bought three of them. They turned out to contain exactly the same things, but the contents made for great souvineers to give the folks back home. It is in an alley and it was hot!

We also got a few things here - a goodie bag had I think 4 things in it- light up pin magic Kingdom pen, seal form living seas, and I can't remember!! Most of the stuff was the smaller type things you can find in the other stores but they did have an are which was 4 thing for $10 . We go a mouse pad, scrapbook kit, shotglass, and window sticker. It might be worth a look.

my kids also got the grab bags last month. Two of them were exactly alike, I remember a deck of cards, mickey ears sippy cup, very small figment plush, and I know there were a few other things. The 3rd bag had a flashlight (w/batteries) instead of the cup, cards, and I can't remember the rest. My kids were happy even tho they haven't used sippy cups in yrs. I think they cost $6.99 or $7.99. The store is right next to the pet store and has an entrance into the pet store if I'm remembering right.

I don't know why I was thinking it was like some kind of WDW outlet...What you all have said makes sense. They have gathered up a bunch of stuff from the park stores that are under $10 at regular price. So I won't really go out of my way for it, but sounds like a good place you can turn the kids loose in and say, "Go ahead, you can pick out any one thing!" and still be safe. ;)

That's precicely it - they have gathered up a bunch of under-$10 items from all around Downtown Disney and concentrated them in one tiny, tiny place. It's very convenient, because those of us who always look for the under-$10 stuff no longer have to browse through the entire World of Disney to find it.

Mickey's Mart does sometimes have marked-down stuff, too. It's no substitute for the Disney outlets off-site, but it's not bad.

I just wish they had put it in a larger place; it's very smal and cramped.

Last week we got some cool things from the kids here. Mickey head plates (purple...daughter loved them), a princess play cell phone, small mickey plush, several other things. Paid 10.00 and the kids were thrilled! there was so much more there, but we skipped it. LOTS of princess stuff.

That's not entirely accurate about it only being a store that is items that are regularly priced under $10 anyway at other stores. We shopped there before and have found things priced lower there than other stores in DTD... items we'd just seen at other stores at a higher price AND/OR some that we saw at other DTD stores for higher cost after seeing them for lower price at that store. Even my oldest daughter commented that some of the items were higher and I confirmed on those items myself... we both commented how sad it would be to buy it here for $4+ more when just a few stores away (at the under $10 store) you could get it for much less. It made me very glad that I hadn't purchased a few things at other stores until I went there... to get them cheaper.

So no, it's not just stuff at the regular price that happens to be under $10 already- thrown into this one store... there are items there that are priced lower than the exact same item at other stores there at DTD.

We didn't do the grab bags but we did like the selection of items in one area that was 4/$10... that was great! :)
