We've been to Disney 20 times, usually without kids, and never checked out the treehouse. September will be a family trip and our grandkids. 12, 9, 8, ,7 and 4 will be with us along with our kids and their spouses. Is it fun for kids? I'm 63 with some weak knees and a few extra pounds ( my marathon running days are over). Is it tough getting around? Fill me in please.

I like it but I think a lot find it boring. You walk up and down quite a few steps. It's more like an exhibit. I've heard it's nice at night because you can look out at MK with all the lights.

There's a lot of stairs and climbing and you're just looking around at the rooms, but my kids (12 and 9) love it! They try to go several times a trip.

It is closed for refurbishment most of the summer though. It closes some time in July til Sept. 24th.

From your description I would probably stay away from the tree house, especially with very small children.

It is a lot of climbing up and then down stairs, and the climbing is probably the only thing a really small child would like. But, if they tire or move so slowly that they create a logjam, you might find yourself having to carry them. The "attraction" is simply some rooms based on things from the old movie, and I don't think small children would find that very exciting.

We arrive the 24th. I may try it after dark. But it sounds like we made a good decision by passing it so far. Thanks.

Do you take the stairs instead of the elevator? If yes, the treehouse is your type of attraction.

I love the treehouse. It is best if you and the kids watch the movie "Swiss Family Robinson", as the treehouse will make more sense. My grandkids, ages 8 and 9 watched the movie before we went in April and really enjoyed the treehouse. Most people walk and climb the stairs slowly so they can look at everything. We went slowly and just let people pass us if they were going at a faster pace. If you go partway and want to leave the attraction, there are ropes you can duck under, but it doesn't take more than 15 or 20 minutes to walk through at a slow pace. Enjoy your trip!

If you know the movies, it's really interesting to walk around their treehouse and I was fond of it as a child. It is a lot of steps and with recent queue enhancements it's kind of like a line without a ride at the end some days... I recently went up it again because my daughter had never been and it was nice but at the same time not a big deal to just skip.

I agree with PP, it'll mean more if you see the movie before doing it, especially with kids as it's not really a movie that is in everyones mind to watch these days.

I go every single trip but alas, this year it will be closed while I'm there,, along with BTMR which means MK will most likely be a half day park for me this trip. It is a lot of climbing and I agree you should watch the movie first to get it. The only part I don't like is there are normally people behind us and I don't get a chance to actually stop and take in the details of the rooms.

I've been on it several times and the kids have always enjoyed it. Took my 4 year old just the other day and he thought it was awesome to be so high up in the trees and he wants to build a similar treehouse at home, lol.

It was hot and humid when we went but I always grab a frozen drink from nearby and we take our time. It's very well shaded and I didn't find it difficult in the heat at all.

I got vertigo both times which was a very weird sensation. We usually go up at night so that you can see everything and it isn't so hot while doing all the stairs.

So weird I should see this mentioned today. I've never had vertigo in my life, but got it on the treehouse the other day and have been experiencing it on and off ever since. I think it's from the plane. My ears are very bad on airplanes, but this is the first time I've had this sort of effect. There was a kid swinging the bridge back and forth when we were on it so at first I thought it was just from that.

My kids loved it our last trip and they have never seen the movie. They even demanded to go through it twice. We went slow and took our time.

I call it "Staris: The Ride." But, in all honesty, I don't hate it. I kinda liek the Tarzan version at DL better though.

I like it but it's definitely a quieter attraction. It's also a lot more fun if you've seen the movie. There are a number of stairs. I didn't find it horrible or overly exerting but if stairs are tough for you, might want to pass that one by in favor of something else. The great thing about it is if your crew has some extra energy, that's a great place to let them work some of it off going through it while being a calmer experience.

My kids liked it when they were young (4 & 6) but they really enjoyed it after seeing the movie. It's very cool to be in the tree, up high and see all the rooms. I agree it's a different experience at night. The movie also enhanced the Pirates of the Caribbean ride for them, which was a surprise. It's always been one of my favorite attractions. I'm glad my kids look forward to it now that they are a bit older.

So. Many. Stairs.

We did it last year with a 6 and 1.5yo, I'm good for...ever. Haha

I've done it once early on in our WDW trips. Once. Cute, but have no burning desire to do it again.
