Every spring when it's time for shorts I hate how blinding white my legs are. I've tried self tanners but they never look good, maybe I'm doing it wrong or buying the wrong product. I was considering trying a spray tan from a salon this year. If you've ever had one I'd love to hear about your experience! Does it hold up pretty well when swimming or sweating? How long does it last? Any other things I should know?

thats what I want to know, how long they last, and are you allowed to bathe afterwards, lol

I like the tanning beds, but got to stop, having cancer x3 should be a sign for me to stop, LOL, but I fly close to the sun

Skip the spray tan and get St Tropez or Bondi Sands tanning foam from amazon. Exfoliate well. The next night, shower to open pores, apply lotion on knees, elbows, dry spots, etc and use a mit to apply the foam. Wash your hands super well and use the excess tanner on the mit to apply to it hands and top of feet. Let dry a few minutes then go to bed. (You’ll look awful from the guard color.. don’t panic.)

Rinse off the next morning and enjoy the perfect tan. I am blinding white and this looks great every time.

You're not really the cautious type 😜 but I agree about staying out of the sun, I don't want to do traditional tanning.

To answer, based on experience - um.. NO... they don't hold up to swimming or sweating. If you have a special event that you want some color for, that's when they'd come in to play, but I wouldn't recommend it long-term. They claim they're good for up to a week but... a few days is really more realistic. When I have somewhere to be (in a wedding for example... back in the days before COVID haha) I have used and like this Fake Bake. It's not 100% but it's definitely the most natural and forgiving self-tanner I've used (and I've used several): https://www.ulta.com/flawless-self-tanning-liquid-professional-mitt?productId=xlsImpprod3850005

Drat! I was thinking of doing for vacation with maybe a little pool time.

I got a spray tan before our Sept ‘19 Disney Trip. While it definitely starts fading throughout the week, I loved how I looked all week. We didn’t swim but took 2 showers a day and it was hot and sweaty. I will be doing it again for our April trip.

I spray tan in the summer and before most vacations. It started adding up $$$ so I invested in my own spray tan machine and I haven’t regretted it.
When I take a trip longer than a week I pack it with me and do a second spray tan in my hotel room shower halfway through my trip.

Yes, definitely swimming in chlorine will make it fade faster, but that's why I pack it with me.

Without swimming mine last a good week.

I love it! I use Cetaphil lotion to keep moisturized and that seems to help make the tan last.

If you decide to do it, ask them for a test on a spot that can be easily covered first. DH's ex-wife got one right before her wedding and she turned orange! They did everything they could to tone it down, but she still looked orangey the day of the wedding.

I've done many and in reality it really only lasts a few days...especially if you're going to be swimming/sweating.

I have never had it done. All I think about when I hear about spray tan is the episode of Friends with Ross getting one. 😂.

I know my SIL use to always get it done prior to going on vacation
