The last time I was at MGM 7 years ago, Sounds Dangerous was not there. I read a description in a WDW book about it and it sounded kind of interesting, however I have been seeing post after post by DISers who really don't care for it. So what exactly is Sounds Dangerous, and what is it that you don't (or do) like about it? We're leaving on Sunday, so I don't want to get my hopes up if it isn't that great!

Its kind of cute, you go in and sit in your seat and then put on a head set. When the movie starts, the premise is that Drew Carey is an undercover agent and has been given a hidden camera and microphone, he puts the camera in his mouth it gets wet and therefore you lose the video portion of the under cover event. At this point the auditorium goes dark, and you hear what Drew is doing, every once in a while the picture comes in but then goes out, until the end when he gets the bad guy.
I like it, I guess it can be a bit boring, but it gives you a chance to get in out of the heat and sit down for awhile.

Thanks....I was wondering too as we are going to MGM next year!

Well... if you've seen it once, that's enough to last a lifetime. It's not very good, a bit boring, and unless you're killing time waiting for a show or PS, totally skippable.

it's a fun diversion... also nice to be able to sit in a cool studio, in the dark, and just take a mid-day chill...

Well, 3 out of 4 in our family love it. The one that doesn't, has issues with the dark! I say, try it - you have nothing to lose!

I actually like it. It isn't my favorite, but I like it enough to go once every trip. It's cute and the sound effects are good. Give it a try!

I think it is a cute show, especially if you need to rest.

However, I would *never* wait in a long line for this - it just isn't worth it. After you exit this show, there is a room to test out some sound effects. Go into those booths that look like phone booths. In there is a really great thing where you put headphones on, and listen to special sound effects with
Mickey on the headphones. It is also very easy to get into this room without actually seeing the "Sounds Dangerous" show.

This page ought to be helpful: http://mgmstudios.org/sounds.html

I like it. If you enjoy Drew Carey's sense of humor(i.e. Drew Carey show & Whose Line is it anyway), I think you'll enjoy the attraction. Besides, it's always frigid in there and it's usually pitch black so if you need a nap, it's a great place for it. :P

We didn't care for it. We were there the first week of Aug. We thought only some of it was in the dark but most of it is. It scared our 7 year old. I din't think it was worth the wait.

Have a great trip!

5 times to WDW and we have never done this one!!! I think we may have to over Thanksgiving.

I like it, but I think Cranium Command is a must-see, so be ye warned.

Kungaloosh!
Morticia.

Like a previous poster said, if you do it once it is enough to last a lifetime!!

I dídn't like it at all, it was boring. The only thing was that you could sit and rest for a bit.

That is one thing we are always sure to bypass when we go to MGM

I enjoyed it. However, it isn't as good as the Chevy Chase show they used to have there. Anyone remember it? Of course I am a big Chevy Chase fan.

As someone mentioned I even like the booths outside in the exit room after the show. You put headphones on and it really feels like someone is cutting your hair and using a blow dryer and it is all done with sound.

I agree it is not worth waiting a long time for, but a great way to cool off in the afternoon.

I had read a lot of posts about 'Sounds Dangerous', so my DH and I decided to try it and see for ourselves.

It is really kinda cool. It's not a favorite, but I think it's pretty neat to be in total darkness and let your ears guide your imagination and try to picture in your head what is going on.

We both enjoyed it.

Have fun!!

Here's another secret admirer. I enjoy the haircut booth the best, though. But the show is okay!

I enjoy it--but do not see it every time I go. Our now 4yo had no problems with the dark--but we are up front and honest with her on all attractions and she was game.

It is mostly in the dark--and it is humorous--but more than once a year can be a bit much.

MGM studios is my least favorite of the parks now--so I won't be running back to catch this show if they for some reason close it--but if it is loading up when I walk by it, I might catch it.

Try it--you have nothing to lose!!!

I think the show is okay but I don't really enjoy it that much.

What I have done before is to take off the earphones and sit in the total darkness and listen to the sounds of the people who are listening to the earphones. I found that to be quite interesting.

The room is super quiet because everyone is listening intently to the sounds in their ear phones.

All your information has led me to this decision:
1) Make it a non-priority attraction and/or
2) Use as a "heat-buster" in middle of the day
Very helpful....thanks again everyone!! :wave2:

We like it, and I agree it is something to do when you have some time to kill. There is never a line, that I have seen!
