Are they traditional low foam spring matteress or they more of a high end nature and good place to sleep for several nights..

We just got back from the World this past April and we stayed in
3 different locations I can report that the Boardwalk Villas have a new tempurpedic type mattress but VWL and SSR still have the old uncomfortable
ones.

Beach Club also has high-quality sleeper sofas, and Animal Kingdom wasn't bad. Thicker mattresses and no bar in the middle of your back.

Placed my mother in law on Sleeper Sofa at SSR.... will not do it again. I will add an extra studio, then having some adult sleep on sleeper sofa.

I'm surprised to hear this about SSR. I thought it was very comfortable.
So far I've slept on the sofa in SSR, and BCV. DM slept on the one at OKW.

OKW was hard to open...very heavy....but I thought Disney's sofabeds are very comfortable...I wish I could buy one.

FTR...I did not have any with a bar across the back. I hear WLV still has them.

My DD (16) has done the sleepers at SSR, VWL and BWV. She reports that they are all very comfortable. She liked BWV best, said it was just a bit more comfie. We liked it best too because we didn't have to figure out where to put the sofa cushions when the bed was pulled out. I've never slept all night on any of them but have tried them out watching TV with her in the evening and I thought they were all pretty comfortable.

I had the same experience as your mother in law... just terrible.:(
And I wasn't expecting it since I had read how comfortable they were without the bar in the middle. The problem for me was that the pad was so thin it was like sleeping on a board. :scared1:

If you don't mind firm... and I do mean FIRM... then it's probably OK.
I definitely won't be sleeping on the SSR ones again!

My son has slept on the sofa at SSR. 2BR. He did not complain. Of course,
he's 24 and sleeps like a ROCK. But if it was uncomfortable he probably would
have said something. :thumbsup2

Our DS (10 at the time) slept on the sleep sofa in a studio at VWL this past January. He hated it. He kept asking why WE didn't sleep on it & let HIM have the regular bed. Told him 'cuz we do the paying.:rotfl: But IMO if a 10 yo complains it must be bad.

We've had friends stay with us who slept on the SSR sleeper sofa and said it was fine.

We only use ours for a couch. We always do a 1 bedroom and one dd sleeps in a crib and the other just sleeps in the huge bed with us. We only have a queen at home. So with a king DH and I don't see each other all week:rotfl: DD at home won't sleep in are bed at all so I'm hoping she will on vacation if not she will be using the sleep sofa.

I was wondering about the sofa beds at AKLV's. I hope they are comfy. My husband and I are used to sleeping on our king bed. So I'm afraid one of us are going to have to sleep on the sofa bed...we just need to decide who....... I sure hope he don't find it too uncomfortable....:lmao:

HA HA HA very funny farmergirl! I'll be too tired for it to matter anyways!

I'm looking at the photos Caskbill posted of the SSR sleeper sofa. I can't be sure, but it looks like this sleeper sofa is a bit different than the ones at BWV.

In the picture, some of the cushions are removed and it looks like it opens by pulling it from the front. Of course the BWV ones have the strap in the middle on the back of the sofa and you leave all cushions in place and pull.

Are there different models at the different resorts?

I've slept on the BWV studio sofa for a few nights for the last few years. A Boardwalk Prof says, it is not the same as the SSR pictured above. It is a one pull from the center strap; the cushions are attached.

I found the sofa remarkably comfortable once I realized one odd thing: The sofa slopes downward from foot to head! Once I figured this out I placed my pillow at the foot of the bed and had no problems. This was not a one-time, one studio issue. I found this to be the case the next two times I stayed in a BWV studio too. :confused3
