Tell me about Redwood Creek Challenge Trail

I just found the height requirements for the tire zipline on Disneyland.com:
"Sequoia Smokejumpers Training Tower (zip line) has a height requirement of a 42 inches (106 cm) minimum and 63 inches (160 cm) maximum. Guests must be under 13 years old to ride."

I wonder why the age limit? I assume to keep short adults off of it ... but my kids are 10 and 14 and I wonder if they're seriously going to tell my 4'11" fourteen year-old she can't ride the zip line? Honestly, her height has always worked against her at DL (she couldn't ride things until years after her peers because she's so small), so it would be nice if it could go the other way for once!

This is a must-do for us. My 8 year old loves the zip-line!
The show with Doug from Up is pretty cute and you get to meet him!

Forgot to mention in my other post that they ask the kids to wear closed toe shoes (so no sandals) if they want to do the rock climbing challenge.

Our first trip to DLR, we happened upon the Redwood Creek area and decided to check it out. We didn't know about the closed toe shoe requirement, and no one stopped us from doing the part where you go across the hanging bridge by walking on the knotted ropes (I hope you know what I mean). It was awful - you are sort of "trapped" in that you can't really back up, and our flip-flops kept on falling off (and getting caught in the netting below) and it was HARD to walk over that bridge!

I know - I can't believe I haven't broken an ankle yet because I always wear flip flops to DL!

The only thing they make you wear closed toed shoes for is the little rock climbing walls.

I'm wondering if that is a fairly new rule (post-refurb). DD7 wears flip flops/sandals almost every trip, and she always does the rock wall. This was the first time she was turned away.

IMO the rock wall is the area in Redwood Creek Challenge Trail where you are least likely to get hurt!

:lmao: We refer to that area as "Brother Bear" - Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is quite a mouthful!

I am super excited for places like this for our younger son (1.5 yrs) and our daughter (4) to be able to just run and play and strech their legs a bit. I think UP is one of the movies on our list to purchase for the drive to CA.

Our daughter is very active too and loves things like this.
