for non-drinkers. I made a 6:30 p.m. mid-week ADR there for me and DH. Both of us are Irish, to varying degrees (he "claims" 100% while I am 75% "other." ;) ) I don't think either of us would be ordering any alcohol, although DH may drink one beer just because it's a pub.

Anyway, you don't read much about the place here so I was wondering if it would be a good choice for us. My DH is an early riser so 6:30pm is about as late as he wants to eat dinner. We certainly would not be staying past 8 or 8:30. Is it worth going?

Yes. The atmosphere and the shepherd's pie is worth the trip.

We went a couple of years ago and LOVED it!! My hubby had the "It's not Bloomin Chowder", my sister and I had the Fish and Chips, and I can't remember what my niece and my kids had...but my son stole half my fish and chips, lol. He was only 4 at the time, and his first fried cod/fish, but he loved it and the "chips"/fries. We really loved the calamari and veggie appetizer, too - even my niece who had never tried calamari.

The service was great, food was very good to excellent, and we had a good waiter.

Oh - and we went around 6pm, I think, give or take 15 minutes on each side. We liked that it wasn't super-crowded yet :)

I'd definitely recommend it!!

another vote to go!!! my family and i went there on our last trip the first night my brother came in. i don't think we could say anything bad about it. my brother liked it so much we went back later in the vaction to celebrate his birthday. we asked for the same server, nate, and had to wait a little longer for one of his table to open. that was okay tho. the atmosphere was great, the food was really good and everyone left stuffed. have a great trip!!!

We had a great meal there last year and are returning this year. I loved the Guinness reduction that came with the bread.

And don't miss the bread pudding for dessert. Almost as good as the dessert at 'Ohana.

It's great-had the guiness reduction and soda bread, all the food was great. It was crowded, and a little noisy. The entertainment starts later at 9 or so, bands and an Irish dancer. She's really good, and sometimes kids from a local dance school perform.
have fun!

The PP about shepherd's pie made me remember why I've never dreamed of going to Ireland- I'm seriously allergic to sheep! Wool, lanolin, lamb meat= all give me reactions from hives to my throat threatening to close up. I'm assuming the Shepherd's pie is made from lamb and I could just order fish & chips, but does the decor include sheepskin or wool of any kind?

Word of caution - halfway to St Paddy's day is a HUGE :scared1:party at Raglan Road. Had the misfortune to be there that night :sad2:and was not smart enough to leave. It was packed and loud and horrible service

If you are into the entertainment, then this is for you. :flower3: Howegver, we had an ADR and still had an hour wait.

On any other day (well i guess st patricks day too) it is a neat place and enjoyed the food. On our bad night, the only (and I mean ONLY) redeeming item was hte bread pudding

We'll be going mid-week in the middle of December, so not a lot of Irish celebrations there, I hope.

I'm going to keep my ADR but if it's an hour wait, we'll just ditch it and go somewhere else. There's plenty of other food in DD.

We love Raglan Road - husband is a beer drinker and I am not, but I still like it. There are several dishes we enjoy, and the bread that they give you with the Guinness and honey dip is SO tasty. I am a pretty healthy eater and they have several vegetable side dishes I can order with the pan seared chicken, so it's one of my best Disney options.

When the live music and dancer are performing, it can get loud, but it's really fun. It's not a raucous bar or anything, just Irish music and a step dancer that performs on a special stage. We like it, and I think kids would like it a lot, but some people might not.

I think you should go! We really enjoyed our meal there and the atmosphere is cool, plus the beer! YUM

My girlfriend and I ate there back in May. We don't think we would go back. The food was OK at best (however the bread pudding was awesome). Our food tasted overcooked or burnt (she had the Guinness meatballs and I had the Bangers and Mash). The service was the second worse we had durring our trip ('Ohana was just awful) and it wasn't just our server. All around we were watching people complaining about getting wrong dishes. The band is good but the accoustics are pretty bad which made it difficult to hear.

It is possible that we went on a bad night, so, as with any opinion, take it with a grain of salt. With all the other dinning options, we will be skipping RR for a while.
