Hi,

The last time I stayed at POR was in 2001. I booked a spur of the moment trip the first week of May (for my adult daughter and I ) and we are staying there in a standard room. I looked on the POR official thread, but that has SO MANY pages of info, it is hard to find answers to my questions.

For those that have stayed there recently... are the rooms newly renovated?
What toiletries does the resort provide? (Are there big bottles mounted in the shower?)
What is the best bus stop to use to get to the parks in the morning?
Is the only place to fill your refillable mug at the food court?

Tell me everything that you LOVE about the resort. I am so excited to stay there again. I remember it was beautiful!!

Thanks!!

Some are, some aren't yet. This page has the most up to date info on the progress.

Bar soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The body wash, shampoo and conditioner are mounted in the shower.

What is the best bus stop to use to get to the parks in the morning?

That depends. Whichever one is closest to your room.

Is the only place to fill your refillable mug at the food court?

Yes.

From our stay last November...

1. Are the rooms newly renovated? Some, but not all.
2. What toiletries does the resort provide? (Are there big bottles mounted in the shower?) Our had the big dispensers in the shower.
3. What is the best bus stop to use to get to the parks in the morning? The West depot is usually the first to pick up; however, we had no complaints about the East one. The South depot might be busy, because it's near the food court.
4. Is the only place to fill your refillable mug at the food court? We didn't use it, but I think so.

We have stayed at POR the last two times we've gone and while we wanted to try somewhere new this year, we are staying there again. The large food court and boat to DS is what ended up being some of the stronger selling points against some of the other resorts we were considering. We like the main pool and the quiet pools are nice too. The grounds are really nice. We are really bummed that the room renovations stopped, as I thought they would have been completed by now.

We stay at the sister resort POFQ but POR would be our 2nd pick if staying at an other moderate. You are allowed to use the pool at either resort. The boat to Disney Springs has always been a big plus IMO.
Location is great regarding buses to Epcot, DHS and MK. We hardly ever go to AK but I believe it is the furthest away.

Yeah we’re going in June. Main reason the food court is so great and love the pool. Just has a great feel. Love the bikes too was fun to ride as a family

Our favorite moderate on property! We love the laid-back vibe and walking along the river between Riverside and French Quarter. And being able to take the boat to Disney Springs is a huge plus! We prefer the Magnolia Bend portion of the resort - with a River view if possible!

Port Orleans is my favorite moderate too! Grounds are beautiful. Love the food court and the boat to Disney Springs.
The buses can get crowded and fill as they go clockwise around the resort loop. The stop near the lobby is last and guests sometimes have to wait for the next bus at peak times, like before park opening. So if your building is between two stops, I suggest going to the one earlier in the route.

Such a great vibe and fun place to stay. Enjoy!!

Thank you all for your tips and info! I am sure we will have a great stay!! :)
