What's the deal with this? I've seen various posts mentioning photopass, but don't quite get what its about. Thanks much!

Hi,
Photopass is cool. When you get your first "professional" picture taken at the parks, they will give you a card, similar to your room key. They will swipe it every time you get a picture from the CM's. You can either view them at any of the picture places or wait until you get home and view them on line for about 1 month. Although, ours was up there for 6 months! This way, you can think about which pictures you like and order them when you have time and not feel rushed. It's pretty cool.

When you have your picture taken by a Disney Photographer they hand you a card with a number on it. The card has been scanned by the photographer so that when you go to a photo center, they can enter the number and locate your photo's. (Back a few years ago, every time a Disney PHotograher took you pictures you were handed a slip of paper to look at the photo's). Photo's cost 12.95 5 by 7 and 16.95 8 by 10. The nice thing about photopass is when you get home you can check out your pictures at home, forward them to friends and family. I wait until I get my pictures developed and will sometimes order the disney picture. It's handy because you don't have to remember where all the little slips of paper are. Once you have a photopass, you just hand it to the Disney PHotographer, he takes the picture and uses the bar code to assign the pictures to your card.

Thanks for the info! This sounds really great and I love that you can view and order your photos after your trip plus send to friends and family! We'll be sure to check this out...

Definitely do it. We just got back and I was able to look at the pictures the Photopass CM's took. So cute!

In addition to regular pictures, the Photopass CM's can also take a picture of you and/or your children holding Tinkerbell in their hand - I believe they can also put Stitch in a picture as well. All you do is hold out your hand and they shoot the picture - when you get the pictures online, Tink is there.

I use Photopass as an insurance policy in case my pictures don't come out. Last time we went, my picture of DD and Cinderella was awful - eyes closed - but the Photopass pictures was perfect so I ordered it. Plus I e-mailed the pictures to friends and family for free, which was great.

It can be expensive though. The pictures are cute and you can crop them down to get real close. We did however get about 40 other peoples pictures on one card we got- our were on there as well but we just had a few additional families to search through. They are online for about 30 days after you first log into the site. Then you buy them or lose them. I was very happy with the quality of shots I got.

In AK, the photographer had the two girls hold their hands out & together & the finished result hsows them holding baby Simba - very cute!
