Hi,

Okay here the deal: Mom & I are considering renting points for next May. We don't want to borrow again. We are thinking of a few nights @ OKW. Enough to relax & go to Epcot & MGM. What do you think, 3 or 4 nights? We'd like a 1 bedroom & it needs to be an accessible room. What's a good building, room? The reservations won't be made until after 10/13. Any suggestions would help. Thanks!!!

Well, I know they have handicapped accessible rooms, but I am not sue where they are located within the resort. I know that the buildings numbered in the mid-high 60's(like 64,65,66)have elevators, so all three floors are accessible. In the other buildings, you'd probably be on a first floor unit for it to be accessible. My recommendation would be to call the resort directly and check with them. I guess it would also depend on the level of accessibility you need. If someone just has diffciulty walking stairs, that's different from the rooms with the accessible bathrooms etc.

As far as the resort itself, we love it!!!It's our home resort(twice! we bought a 2nd contract there a couple of years ago). It's very relaxed, nice main pool(although no fancy slide or anything, but an overall nice pool area)with three or four quiet pools. Olivia's is a decent restaurant. You can rent bikes, boats etc. There's a little boat that takes you to DD. TYou take the bus everywehere else.Decorated in sort of a beachy theme...lots of pastels, peach, lavender, green mostly. The rooms are large. If you get a 1BR or larger, you'll have the master bedroom with the jacuzzi, and also a washer/dryer and a full kitchen. The studios have a kitchenette, with a small fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, and toaster.

decide what you would like to see - water, golf or woods - then where you want to be near - a pool, bus stop or HH -

building 18, but because of the set up of the bathroom - you might like building 31 and up - then 55.

in the older building (including 18) - there was not a way to get into the bathroom without going through the bedroom - in 30 and above there is another door.

19 and 20 are on the pool and directly across from the bus stop - but my brother stayed in 20 and complainted about the noise from the pool - I guess you could have the same problem in 55 - but we were on the opposite end.

here is a map

Pat J,

Thanks! It looks like you are pretty close to a bus stop where ever you are? Maybe I want to be towards Hospitaly House?? Not sure.

We usually prefer the South Point area (buildings 50-55). I have never noticed a problem from the pool there, but we have not stayed there in summer. We were in building 64 (elelvators) last month, and the location was nice from the standpoint of the bus. We made a short stroll to Hospitality house, and never waited for a bus! The view was of a golf green, and it was sometimes fun to watch the golfers in the afternoon/evening.

If you need easy access for health reasons, be sure you put that request on your ressie. If you want to be sure to have the extra door to the bathroom, be sure to request any building higher than 30. I would not recommend asking for a specific building, but rather an area and the accessibility issues.

Thanks!
