Tell me about Ocean City Maryland

Can you tell me more about the Pirate Museum? What's the name, how much for admission?

I don't know about this particular museum but I think one of OC's best-kept secrets is the shipwreck and pirate museum on the second floor of Sea Shell City (just be careful not to say that too fast!;) ) It's free (donations accepted) and it is so much fun for both the little kids and adults. They have lots of artifacts from the Titanic and other wrecks and pirate displays too. Definately worth the trip (and the store is great for shopping too!)

Twinglemum, my youngest was about 5 when we went to Frontiertown and he LOVED it! It was a lot of fun. It's close to Assateague so you could easily combine the two. There is also a waterpark just outside Frontiertown and I think you can buy a combination ticket that lets you do both for the day.

1. I'm researching a visit to Assateague Island. The National Seashore Park is free for pedestrians/bicyclists, $3 per person or $15 per vehicle. Is there a parking lot outside the park, and you can then enter on foot to hike and maybe see the ponies?

2. Assateague State Park - is this free to enter, or is there a fee?

TWINGLEMUM If you have Comcast digital cable with OnDemand - go to Searchlight/Travel and Leisure. I'm near Reading PA and we have a section for MD-DE-NJ Beaches. There are a bunch of programs, that are free to watch, about Ocean City and the surrounding area.

There is a fee for both parks. You can usually drive from the bridge to the National park and see ponies along the side of the road.

Rainy Day tips?

We leave tomorrow for our short stay at Ocean City. It looks like we will have rain the entire time. Any budget-friendly ideas of what to do since the beach is not going to be an option?
