Tell me about Mama Melrose...Good choice??

We've never been to Mama Melrose and have made reservations for this week during our trip. What do you think of Mama Melrose??

We've eaten there a few times over the years and it's pretty good.

In October, I ordered a steak (NY strip maybe) and it was the best steak we had the whole trip. The girls really enjoyed their choices too.

We'll definitely be back!

We ate there a couple of years ago and we all enjoyed our meals. It was one of the more pleasant surprises of our trip since we had read some so-so reviews in the past.

We wouldn't hesitate to eat there again in the future if we ever found ourselves at DHS around dinnertime. However, with Fantasmic down to a few nights a week we tend to get out of DHS long before dinner.

Ive eaten there for the Fantasmic dinner package--Party of 12 and we all enjoyed are meals! I hear alot of bad reviews but we will be going back

We have never had a bad experience at Mama Melrose. I would eat there again. I know that some people have had bad experiences, but you are always going to find people that like a place and people that dislike the same very place for various reasons.

Sorry to say, we didn't like it. The appetizers and desserts were awesome, but the entrees were terrible. Service was good.

We always enjoy Mama Melrose. The cheese cake is great, according to my DH and DS16. The meals have always been very good. The service is excellent.

We did this meal (Fantasmic) last year and enjoyed it. I too have read a lot of reviews that are bad, but I must say that I enjoyed the meal.

We've eaten here several times. The chicken parm is very good and the Gelato is great.

I booked it as the lesser of the evils for a Fantasmic dinner package a couple of years ago--we had previously been to Hollywood & Vine and it was okay at best. We went in with zero expectations but were delighted with the food, atmosphere, and service. We are big foodies, by the way. I would not hesitate to go back.

If you like Olive Garden, you will like Mama Melrose. It tastes the same to me, I got the chicken pippette and the chicken was just the frozen kind. Definetly nothing special.

We liked eating at Mama Melrose! Our family of five orders an appetizer and their flatbreads. I have heard so not-so-nice things about some of their other food, but we have eaten here several times and stick to the flatbreads. yum

We enjoyed Mama Melrose. I had read the poor reviews, so just hoped for adequate, but was pleasantly surprised. Good service, a bit better than average food ( thought it was a notch above Olive Garden). I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

MM isn't the best Italian food I've ever had but it certainly wasn't the worst either. We had appetizers for the table to share: calalmari, some sort of antipasta and bruschetta. The first two were quite good and the third okay. I had the pipette pasta and it was good. I can't remember what the other adults had but the kids had a pepperoni pizza and some spaghetti and ate well. The atmosphere was fun and the only negative was our server seemed a bit loopy I think we may have arrived just after a big rush and she was overwhelmed.

I've always liked it. The flatbreads are the best things on the menu, hands down, best Disney "pizza" IMO
The only downside I can think of is the service can be slow, but come to think of it the Brown Derby and 50's Prime Time are also slow, so...
Also, I love the theming, typical Italian restaurant decor.

Always differing opinions because at any one (or two or three) time, you might have the perfect meal. That being said, my experience with MM is that it has average food, and the last time I went the service was extremely slow. It wasn't particularly busy, but the water, food, water refill, and check all came out s-l-o-w-l-y. Not a place I'd avoid, but not one I'm planning to go back to anytime soon. Still, if you haven't tried it, I always tell folks to give any restaurant at least one chance.

We love Mama Melrose. We like coming here for dinner after a lunch at Sci-Fi or 50s PT. The food is good- flatbreads, penne vodka and chicken parm are my favorites. Service is decent.

Mama Melrose's always seems to generate mixed reviews. I have eaten dinner there twice and enjoyed it both times considerably more than I thought I would. I suspect because my expectations were low, even an average meal was satisfying. I suggest trying the grilled tuna or one of the flatbreads. My younger brother recommends the chicken Parmigiana.

We ate here once last summer and it was really good. We are eating there again this ummer. I always wonder why it gets bad reviews We thought it was a nice change to some of the options in the parks.
