I have DDs 2 and 5 who love to do crafts. Are the kidcot stations only in the countries? Which ones are a must do?

When I went with my DD10 last October, they were only in the countries around World Showcase. We both made a mask. Each country had a different cutout and stamp to add to the mask. The cutouts attached through a special hole. In China, the woman at the table put our names in chinese on the back of the mask. She also stamped what year we were on the stick. You know, year of the dog, etc. If you made it through all the countries, you got a special certificate.

My DD and I had a good time. It's like a scavenger hunt. We had to ask for directions at each pavilion because of the Food and Wine Festival. The Kidcot stops are usually in a toy shop.

Good luck! It took us 2 hours to do this. It might take others longer. My DD and I walked briskly around World Showcase. We were on a mission. I want to do this again!

The Epcot kidcot stations are in each country, where you can decorate a mask! Each country adds something new! You can also buy an epcot passport to have stamped at each country also! They both make for nice souvineers! :flower:

Morroco is neat a plastic charm. My daughter loved doing the countries last week. SHe used her autograph book and got it signed in each country along with the mask tag.
There is also kidcot stations in the land , living seas, and test track. We did this one too which was great.

We were at the Living Seas over Spring Break and they had a kid cot stop in there. They had a necklace to attach their artwork (a shark and a dophin cut out) to.

I noticed a few stations in Future World. A couple were for the Flower and Garden exhibits last week and there was also one inside the Living Seas area. My DS's loved the stations (they are 3 and 6).

Shocking! Those crafty Disney marketers!

Seriously though, the Kidcot stations are great, esp if your kids are into crafts. It's a great free souvenir which my DD proudly displays in her room. I'd allow a good 2-4 hours, maybe more if you're doing other things as you tour WS.

The are popping up around Future World. Last week I noticed one at the end of Test Track...and yes, it was right in the middle of the gift shop.

And don't forget that when you get all of your countries completed they will give you a free poster. Its small, probably just a little bigger than an 8x10, with the Mickey crowd. I remember Goofy being on it but can't remember who else.

The funniest thing to me - your kid is sitting at the Kidcot station decorating his mask, and you're standing next to him thinking, "I came all way to Disney World to let my kid color!"

Its a great idea, though. If nothing else, it encourages you to spend a little more time in each country. Our whole family enjoyed it. Our macho DS16 has his displayed in his room.

Just got back and the 4 year old princess: did the KidCOT stops in Future World. We did not have time to do the countries. (Next trip!)

There are 3 stops: Living Seas, The Land, and Test Track. In each stop the kids color 2 "charms" that attach to a lanyard. There was no educational benefit out of it, but it was nice for her to sit and relax.

Hope this helps!

Did I mention that parents can do this, too? I made one with my DD. What a hoot! The CM at China didn't know what year I was, dog, horse, or whatever. I guess that she was used to helping younger guests. :rotfl:

Is there generally a long wait at each station? Thanks :) BTW we'll be there in July.

Sometimes there was no wait at all. There were a couple of countries that we visited and had a child or two ahead of us, but it wasn't a long wait. :)

That's exactly what I was thinking when I was there! My dds really loved doing this and still have the masks hanging in their rooms. A few countries were really crowded and had a bit of a wait but not too bad. They had the passports also and they are really neat -- many of the cm's wrote personal notes with info about the country in their native language.

These sound great for my DDs as they love crafts, coloring included. Are the masks and necklaces sturday enough to make it through the rest of the day in a backpack?
