Tell me about July 14-19....

We've been to DL several times over the past several years but have never been during the summer time. I'm thinking of taking my 8 year old DS, sister and her DD who is 4. Because we've been so many times, it's really not imperative that we try and "do everything" we just want to go and have a good time. How hot is it during July? I'm assuming it will be crowded and that's ok, we're used to crowds and know how to work the system. I guess I'm just needing some reassurance that we'll have a good time.

That's about when we went last summer and we were able to do everything. We always arrived before the gates opened and enjoyed the relative calm of the mornings. We'd take a break in the afternoon and then head back for the evening. Our evenings were more laid back and we'd just ride whatever didn't have a long wait (usually PoTC over and over! ) and watch the parades and fireworks. Morning was our big ride time. We were fortunate in that it never got too uncomfortably hot. It would be in the high 80s in the afternoon but the mornings and evening were pleasant.

It's been hot when we've gone in July (past 2 years) and crowded but we still have fun. We just use FP and take midday breaks and it all works out great for us. Just make sure you drink a lot of water, get FPs for the water rides early in the day and have a good time.
