Well...since I'm striking out in the DTD area, I am know thinking of International Drive. I want to be in an area the my older kids can walk to in the evenings to find things to do. Are there sidewalks? are there things to do? What about the crossroads area or Lake Buena Vista? Anything there?? Thanks

It depends upon what part of II drive you are on - closer to US/IOA it is built up so much that I try to by pass that area.

closer to SW it is not - but the better hotels are closer to SW (except of course the Loews - Universal hotels).

If you want something cheaper than WDW or LBV - then I suggest Kissimmee - Kissimmee is working on its area - they are putting up sidewalk, too - like II.

now if you want the availability to walk to PI or City Walk - then for PI it is the downtown hotels or by bus WDW hotels.
City walk it is the loews - Universal hotels - none is a cheap alternative.

In the Kissimmee area and II - they can take the public transportation system

We stayed in a Days Inn that was walking distance to a place called Old Town. My kids loved it.
