Tell me about Halloween

We will be at the BCV with our 2 boys (4 and 2) for Halloween.

My plan is to go to Epcot for Halloween (we are not doing MNSSHP because we will be doing MVMCP instead). Will they be passing out candy anywhere in the park?

I believe on the 30th, if you go to the Halloween Party at the MK, they give out candy all over the park.
I don't think they give out candy otherwise, but you might get from foreign treats from the WS.

We were there for Halloween night 2004. We had done the MNSSHP earlier in the week and planned on leaving mid afternoon Halloween day so our son would be home for trick or treating. As we were eating we noticed alot of kids in costumes around the resort. We were staying at POP. I asked a castmember what was going on, she said the kids were trick or treating around the resort. We never heard anything about it, so my son decided he wanted to stay and do that instead of going home. They had cast members at all the big icons handing out candy. It was really cool. THey even had a maze set up on the bridge between the open section and the not finished section of the resort.

I would call the resort you are staying at and ask if they plan anything special.

What is the weather like at that time? We are thinking of doing a big family trip next October.

In 2004 we went to DTD trick or treating. I believe it was held a couple days before the 31st though. That might be worth checking into.

sap1227...If you want to take your kids trick or treating head for the MarketPlace at Downtown Disney.I don't believe the parks hand out treats on the 31st.

As far as I know the schedule for 2006 hasn't been released as of yet for DTD....this is the info I have from LAST YEAR 2005

If you can't get tickets for Halloween night for MNSSHP or you feel the MK might just be too crowded for you,fear not!... there is still plenty to do at WDW that weekend!​

Kids DJ Dance Party at the Dock Stage (Marketplace)

Two Kids' Costume Parades will be featured

Vote for your Favorite Jack O Lantern on October 30, winner displayed on the 31st

Photo Opportunities throughout the Marketplace and the West Side

Ghosts and Goblins appearing throughout the Marketplace area

Skeleton Stilt Walkers appearing at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00

Balloon Artists at 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00

Magician Performs at 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30

Juggling Duo Performs at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30

This event may be cancelled in the event of heavy rain or inclement weather.​

momoflizandains....October is a beautiful time of year at WDW! The temperatures are moderate and the skies are often a crystal,clear blue during the day.

The weather is normally pretty nice in the low 80's. We are from S. Florida, so that is nice, Most people think it is too hot. You just need to be aware of the material your childrens costume is made out of so they don't get overheated.
