My parents just bought a house in Florida and were wondering about Florida Resident Passes and what they need to buy them.

What documentation will they need and how much are they?

Are there any other perks for Florida residents out there?

Thanks for any and all information... :sunny:

The ID and Driver License is available from the Driver License office. The locations are available from www.myflorida.com and you can make appointments online. You must have an appointment for best service otherwise you will wait and wait.

When I got my FL only license I did not need to show proof of a FL address, the clerk just asked me what my address and zip code was. I did have my mortgage papers with me to show proof (you never know if they will ask)

FL ID is $15.00 A DL is $20.00.

Allearsnet has FL resident pricing. http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/ticketchart.htm

There are FL resident discounts on rooms and you can get the Disney Dining Experience without an AP. You can also get an EPCOT after 4 pass. The other Orlando attractions also have FL resident deals.

FLA-Res Seasonal

What is this pass???

It is an AP that has a few black out dates during peak times... ie. summer, spring break, and chritsmas and new years. Its a great deal though and this is what we always buy.

The seasonal pass gets you into the four theme parks but has black out dates. The blackout dates are for very busy times of the year so that is no loss IMHO.

The seasonal pass DOES NOT include parking, the water parks, Disney Quest etc. just the theme parks. If your staying at a Disney hotel your parking is covered anyway, so once again no loss IMHO.

You do get all the discounts of a regular pass. Discounts on admission to DQ, water parks, La Nouba, etc.. Some discounts at resturants and shops.

We really like the seasonal pass. I would never pay for the premium pass, but it might be worth it if you live very close so you won't stay at the resort or your very into DQ and the water parks.

The seasonal pass is normally blacked out a week or 2 around March and from mid June to mid August and the last couple of weeks of Dec. It's still a great deal and if you want to go during a blackout time you can pay the $100 difference to upgrade to a regular AP.

We bought DS a seasonal pass and DW and I have regular passes. I couldn't see to get the premium as we are about an hour away and don't normally use the water parks. DQ is nice but not worth the upgrade to the premium pass IMHO.

Is there a website with the blackout dates listed? They thought of joining us for the 3 weeks in October/November we wanted to go to... :thumbsup2

Here are the actual 2006 blackout dates.

April 8-21, 2006; June 10 to August 17, 2006; December 22, 2006 to January 5, 2007.

The time that you are talking about will be fine.

We purchase the regular Florida AP with no blackout dates. I love going at the times of year that are blacked out for the seasonal pass. I didn't think the regular Florida AP was that much more than the seasonal pass. Anyway, it was worth it for us. We go on a regular basis and we get free parking.

The annual would be great if we were not with them as we have AP's with free parking.

As for the black out dates, that is exactly when they will be home...Life is good. :thumbsup2
