We have never gone. We usually alternate between the Lion King and Nemo shows but I have heard that it is good. What happens during the show? Our DDs are 4 and 6.

Don't miss it! It's one of my favorites at AK and I almost skipped it because I wasn't interested (I think a LOT of people do but they would enjoy AK much more if they took the time to see it). Basically, it feels and appears as though it's an animal tricks show. However, they just use the birds' natural habits to create an enthralling performance. I don't wanna give too much away. There is some audience participation too, but again it's not a stunt show. Just remarkable feats of nature. I'm more of a thrill ride kinda guy, but this show is amazing and I know, I know, it sounds boring. My kids didn't go with us when I saw it and it's a hard sell. They aren't excited no matter how much I hype it up, but I'm making them go anyway when we go back in 3 weeks. And I can't wait!

I see it is outdoors... is it hot? Do you recommend earlier shows during the summer?

Have to agree with above poster but I won't give things away either ;) Its a MUST do for all ages so sad when I see people rushing right past it to get to other things Hot ? well its kind of outside, under a canopy kind of roof but its not hours or anything, in fact since you are sitting down its a nice stop & enjoy nature kind of thing

While it is outdoors, the seating area has a fabric awning, so you are in the shade during the show. However, like anything else in WDW, when it's hot outside it's always better to go early or late in the day.

We bypassed this show for years before finally seeing it. And really kicked ourselves for missing such an entertaining and informative attraction for so long!

I would go early just because it's not as hot. We were comfy under the canopy but it was probably the 3rd or 4th thing we did that morning.

The Flights of Wonder show is awesome! It is great for all ages. I would try to get there a bit early so you can sit on the floor area instead of the bleachers in the back and I would go for an early show to beat the heat. Well worth the visit!

Personally, I love the show, but am the only one in our group that does. I think your kids will really get a kick out of it, but since they are young, try and get a seat close to the front.

Admittedly I skipped this many times because I thought I would not enjoy it. It is one of my favorite things at AK. I wish I would have seen it sooner, but it was such a nice surprise!

Your kids' ages are perfect for this show. Absolutely perfect.

I am another one who just dismissed this as "another bird show" until I was there for a solo trip and a performance was just starting and I had nothing else to do. Well, I was thrilled and took my husband on the next trip and it's one of those "we can't miss it" attractions now (we honestly don't get Festival of the Lion King and both of us almost fell asleep at Finding Nemo: the Musical).

I would suggest you get to the theatre about twenty minutes before show time as there is a presentation outside the theatre (an owl at this time). Very educational without preaching that you are learning something. Then, just go in after the throngs go in. I recommend seats up in the bleachers (right side, about four rows from the top and on the aisle - won't say why). Then sit back, relax and enjoy. There is some environmental messages towards the end but it's mostly good fun and delightful birds doing what they do naturally.

But the best part? At the end, you and your kids can go up to the edge of the stage and see the birds up close and personal. That is the highlight for our grandkids. Don't go rushing out with everyone else - go to the stage and it's amazing.

Another strong recommendation - describing it won't do it justice it's SO well done.

We too walked by it many times until DH was going to ride EE and DD and I went to see it on impluse. We saw the show LOVED it - went to meet DH and drag him back for the next show. We see it a few times a trip - we've even seen it twice in one day.

Strongly recommend it.

Absolutely a must do. It is one of my favorite attractions with or without the kids. Your children are a great age to enjoy it.

It is a very cute bird show, similar to ones staged in zoos and parks across the country. Our grandchildren love it and like to meet the birds after the show.

Wonderful show! The first time we saw this one they asked for a volunteer with a camera - well I happened to have a digital camera in one and a video camera in the other. I have heard in the past to be bold in your demeanor when volunteering so of course I made a lot of noise and waved both cameras. I was picked and did not know what I was getting into.

They had me sign a waiver and then go on stage with another gentleman. I can't remember what the man did but it was with a smaller bird. Then the bring out this huge 3+ foot bird and it flew to the back. They had me sit down and explained to the audience they were going to have me start video taping and the bird was going to fly towards the camera. They then turned off the mic and turned to me and told me to sit absolutely still and not to flinch because the bird was going to fly straight at me, swoop over my head and land just behind.

It was great video shot!!! Just an amazing experience!!!!
