We're trying to plan our schedule for June, and I'm wondering if it is worth it to take advantage of the evening EMHs at Animal Kingdom. It doesn't sound like all that much is open, really. Have you been? What was it like? How were the crowds? Did you enjoy it? Any opinions are welcome! Thanks. :flower:

Well, I can't tell you too much, but I'll tell you what little we experienced. We were there for Spring Break (week after Easter.) We decided to go over around 6:30 to eat at Tusker House. We were one of about THREE families in the whole restaurant. We got the whole patio to ourselves. THen we just wondered around for a while shopping. My husband and daughter decided to stay a bit for the EMH, so they got bracelets and stayed for Lion King And Tough to Be a Bug. There really weren't that many people there---especially compared to MK. It was pleasant just to be anywhere without crowds.

I have been wondering that as well. We go at the end of June and this weekend I was gathering all the info to put together some type of "game plan". From what I have written, most of the attractions open are in Dinoland. I think it would be nice experience to just walk around without the crowds. I would think you would be able to hear more of the "wildlife".

I was also thinking it would be a great time to ride the Kali Rapids. Less of a line and if you got soaked who cares, you are heading back to the resort.

I am still giving it some thought. It will probably be one of those last minute decisions when we are down in WDW. :flower:

I was wondering about this as well. I heard it's best to do AK in the morning so I don't really want to just wait until the after to go and stay for EMH. I figured we'll go in the morning and pace ourselves. Then might take a break to walk around AKL or depending on time DTD or something then come back later in the afternoon to walk around more? Or just stay the whole day at AK - some people we know did spend from 9AM to 6PM at the park... they said they did everything. So we figured we may not be at AK until 8PM (it looks like there are only 4-5 things open in the evening and most we'll do during the day so I can't see us staying till 8)

Thanks for the info.

Do you know if the animals in the Oasis area are out, or do they put them up for the evening?

Does anyone know if you can go on Pangani Forest Trail; maharza jungle trek (I know that's spelled wrong, sorry, the one in Asia), or the Discovery Island Trails? Are they well-lit? I love wandering around AK during the day, and was thinking it might be especially pretty after dark, as long as it's well lit.

Disney's website indicates what is open during the extra magic hours.

DS13 & I are planning on hitting AK once in the morn (at reg opening) and then 2 EMH nights
We're planning on doing the other parks once at their openings, once at regular closing and once at their EMH nights

WE did AK EMH evenings, my DS16 and I during Spring Break, the week following Easter Sunday. We had much more fun than we thought!

NO crowds. Dinosaur and Triceratops andPrimeval Whirl were all walk ons and this was at the beginning of EMH. We didn't think Kali was open, but it was and we rode 3 times in a row with a great bunch of people. Lion King was open, but we didn't go. Did do Tough to be a Bug. No wait either.

We had a great time and then headed over to MK til midnight. A great night.

When we went last week, most people went straight to the only show of the Lion King (during EMH) and then directly over to the Tarzan show. We skipped the Tarzan show and walked right in to Tough to Be a Bug. We then rode Dinosaur 3 times with very little wait.

I might have to rethink our schedule and do an evening EMH for AK.
