Tell me about estate sales

Somehow I've never been to an estate sale before but I've seen lots of ads in the paper lately and they sound very interesting.

My confusion comes from this whole number business. The ads say "Sale Friday and Saturday. Numbers at 8:00 a.m. Friday." Well, I know the numbers are your turn to go in the house but if you want to go on Saturday does that mean you have to get a number on Friday?

How about all of you who frequent estate sales? Ever find anything good?

I know this is the place to come for the good advice!

I've been to a few. I have never had to get numbers though. I saw some yard tools, and other stuff.

I just looked and didn't buy.
