Going to Florida in April and thinking about Driving and stopping by Hilton Head on the way down. We would arrive late on a Friday night (about 10:00pm) and stay that night, be at the resort all day/night Sat and head out on Sunday early afternoon.

Kids are 12 & 10

I think it would break the trip up nicely.

Please tell me anything you can about this location.
Thanks in advance for your help

We're at HHI resort right now-we love it here. For a filling, VERY casual, delicious meal, I recommend the Sea Shack. And make sure you get the resort's wake up call. It isn't Stitch,here-it's so cute!

we are here now as well.. we do the same.. drive down- stopping here for a break. We were here on the way to WDW for 2 1/2 days.. it was a little chilly-but we did get to swim and visited the Sea pines.
On the way home we are just here to rest up for our jouney back North.
The rooms are nice here, larger then the week we just had at the Boardwalk.. and its quite here

Split resort. Beach house is a short drive, very long walk or a quick shuttle ride from the main resort. Great restaurants within walking distance and many on the island.

Most villas are a walk-up due to building code and no elevators. If you have stair restrictions, ask for the main building for medical reasons where there is an elevator.

Lovely resort.

Thanks everyone.
Can you tell me about the camp fire or kids activities. I know we will only be here one full day/night but I am sure my kids would love to do some things.

We may also go to the beach for the day and come back and hit the pool too. We will be there at the beginning of April. Will the ocean water be warm enough for a swim or would we be better off at the pool?

Are there any dedicated websites (besides the offical Disney Site) where I might be able to get more info?

I am also thinking about reserving for the trip home (which will be the day before easter and easter day) Cant decide.

Thanks again for all of your responses.

we really enjoy HH. In fact, we got back last weekend from a week's stay. It is just DH and I so i'm no expert on the kids activities. Our room was next door to the area were they hold the campfire/sing along at night. It sounded like fun and folks seem to be enjoying themselves.

The pool is heated so if the beach is too cool you could still swim.

I think it would be a great place to break up a trip. You may not be able to get a room Easter weekend, but you could try. Our first stay here was between a trip to NC and WDW. We stayed Sun-Wednesday. We found out that we really liked it  and have returned twice since then. It is a good every other year trip for us.

Thanks.
I did get a room for two nights on the way down and two nights on the way back.

We are going on a Royal Caribbean cruise that leaves from Ft Lauderdale and right now the airfare is outrageous so we have decided to drive. I am really looking forward to staying here. I think the kids will have a lot of fun and it will be a nice way to break the trip up.
