Tell me about Dining and VIP Illuminations Seating

From reading this restaurant forum, I see many people have made dining ADR's with VIP Illuminations seating. I have never heard of this before except with a Grand Gathering. Do you have to specifically ask for it? Is there an additional charge? I have several ADR's for December & January and no CM's ever mentioned it. Can someone please tell me what it is and how it works? Thanks.

The VIP seating you have been reading about has been given to people who had resevations at Teppanyaki in late Aug.early Sept.. The resturant was to open 8/20 ut now not until 10?15 or later. CMs are called people to switch their Adr's and giving them VIP seating to make up for the resturant being closed. I had an ARD for 12 on 9/2 and got in to Coral Reef instead with the VIP seating.
