Can someone explain how Dim Sum at Nine Dragons works? Is it typical cart-style dim sum? What kinds of dim sum do they serve? Any photos? :thumbsup2 Thanks!!

It is served from the kitchen to order, not on carts. There is only one place in all of the Orlando area that serves Dim Sum from carts.

I was there last week and was disappointed with the selection. I was thinking they would have "typical" Dim Sums like what you get in pu pu platters but they had a very small selection and they were not your typical selections (no crab ragoon, chicken fingers, BBQ pork, or chicken wings.) I brought my sister (10) and cousin (14) and they ended eating sweet and sour chicken off the childrens menu because there was nothing they recognized (except fried rice and they think that is a side dish.)

Hmm.. see that actually sounds like a good thing to me! :goodvibes I'd be disappointed to show up for dim sum and have things like that. I'd more expect various types of dumplings, buns, the occasional chickens feet, etc.. :rotfl2:

I have to agree, if I showed up at a restaurant for dim sum and there were chicken fingers and chicken wings, I'd be pretty shocked and disappointed. "Pu pu platters" aren't typical dim sum foods, they're just American food.

try ming court on int' drive for real some dim sum in the area :thumbsup2
heard it's pricy but that's your best bet in Orlando.

I concur, with the dumplings.
In New York,
Dim Sum often refers to a fish or pork mixtured dumpling.
Of which I am highly addicted to.

Ok, PuPu Platters are all appetizers...all american style. Dim Sum is real, authentic Chinese food, and yes there is the American style Chinese style food they we all are used to, then there is Authentic Chinese food. Dim SUm consists of different types of dumplings, and chicken feet, and all other kinds of very different, buy tasty foods. I wish the Nine Dragons had authentic Dim Sum. My kids love Hargow and cha su bow....good stuff :).

If you want real dim sum..head over to Ming Court on international drive. You will love it!
