We are looking for ideas for our upcoming December trip to the Dis. I can't seem to find any photos of Chef Mickey's. Just looking for reviews/opinions. We have been to the Crystal Palace before - just wondering how this compares. Thanks!

Chef Mickeys is my ds's one request for our next trip! We like Crystal Palace as well, but of coarse Chef Mickeys has...Mickey:laughing: It is a LOT of fun! I am not much of a buffet person, but this place is a lot of fun and definitely worth the $. It is one of the most popular character dining spots, and a "must do" for many!
these are from 2 years ago!

I think Chef Mickey's is a lot of fun. Its one of only two (I think) meals where Mickey makes an appearance (the other is Garden Grill and I think that's it). Its very lively, they have a buffet at both breakfast and dinner. We almost always also see Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck and usually Pluto and or Chip/Dale. They have a kids buffet and adult buffet with a pretty wide variety. Its sort of neat to eat at the Contemporary, I know my kids have always enjoyed that. You get to wave your napkin around and clap as Mickey and the other characters sort of cavort around. I think its something everybody needs to do at least once!

I have done both breakfast and dinner, I like dinner mostly because we aren't really morning people!

We went in 2004 - kids were 14 and 10 -- we enjoyed it. A lot of energy and noise and kid friendly fare (and my DS's are picky, picky). We are going to Crystal Palace this time around but only because I want to try somewhere new. We definitely thought it was fun:thumbsup2

We LOVE Chef Mickey's :cool1: :cool1:. We always do a breakfast and a dinner every trip :dance3: Food is great and it's a fun time:woohoo: :woohoo:

DD6 (at the time) and I had a wonderful dinner at Chef Mickey's. It was one of the most memorable experiences of our mother/daughter trip.

She just pulled out her autograph book to show her little brother this weekend. He was in awe as she told the story of meeting Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Chip and Dale. He looked at me and asked if he could please have his picture taken with Chip and Dale too.

I was so happy with the character interaction during the dinner. My DD was a major princess fan but did not speak to any of them. The child had never been shy before or since but she said it was all "a bit overwhelming"! However when she saw Minnie she threw her arms around her and said "oh Minnie, I LOVE you". Minnie put her hands on her heart and then gave DD another hug. We went and bought a Minnie stuffed plush on the way out! I can still picture DD holding her Minnie standing on the railing of the monorail watching the fireworks and then sleeping holding so tight to Minnie that night.

I can't wait to go back!

We love Chef Mickey. Actually, we always do Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace for each trip. Chef Mickey is more like a party. It's lots of energy and hustle and busle. The kids would never miss it. Go, you'll have a great time.:cool1:

This is the one restaurant that my kids would genuinely miss and be very disappointed if we didn't go to! They have a lot of fun anywhere, but Chef Mickey's is special to them --- from the napkin waving to the birds flying around the restaurant and seeing the monorail go overhead!!

We've eaten at CM the past two times with our DD (6&7) and they had a blast. I think it has great character interaction and they have food they enjoy. I've always has good service with plates being cleared and drinks refilled.

They have a good food selection (considering the volume they handle) and have the *best* dessert bar .. our girls love to make a sundae.

Now you need to know it's always very busy and we often sit later then our ADR, which sometimes is late as we tend to not have dinner till 7:30 or so when away. CM also attracts large groups and one year we sat by a very rude family who wouldn't let the characters move on.

It's a good value and as noted one of the easier places to have access to Mickey & company.
