How's the CBR? We're thinking of booking there for Dec. Is it nice? Is it true that the rooms are bigger than the other moderates?

CBR is a beautiful resort. At the top of the resort board you can always find threads about the resorts.

Yes CBR has the largest rooms of all the moderates.

I have links for CBR listed below. You will love it there!

CBR is very spread out. We were in Trinidad and had a very far walk to the food court. We walked to eat once, drove all other times. Try to trequest a building closer to food court.

Trinidad North is considered a preferred location because it is located near the main pool and food court. Preferred locations cost extra nightly.

Trinidad South is farther away. Some people like the seclusion of being that far away.

I am on the minority side of this discussion, and will probably feel the wrath of those who do not readily accept dissenting opinions...

We disliked CBR and will not stay there again.

Different strokes for different folks...

That's why there are so many resorts at WDW. Different tastes for different people. There are resorts I don't care for at WDW also.

loved it! went in may with one of my friends to celebrate 1 year of college done :) had a blast..may stay there again in january!

I don't think we'll stay there again, but after staying at Pop, it is looking more appealing =)

The rooms are large, it's a very quiet resort - we rarely saw or heard neighbors, and that is nice. Plenty of room at the pools and such. Seems romantic, in a way... but still kid friendly.

We were VERY far from the food court, made our refillable mugs a waste because we weren't willing to hike down there very often. I think we were in Trinidad. It seemed that we waited a loooooooong time for buses, so we ended up just driving ourselves to and from the park. But it's been years since I visited, they might have improved the bus waits.

Trinidad North may be a preferred location but some buildings of Trinidad North are still a bit of a walk to the food court. I wouldn't pay extra for a location. If the themeing appeals to you, you may like CBR.

More opinions please...we will be staying there in 2 days and I'm still apprehensive.

Have you read the FAQ listed below? Many people have had wonderful vacations at CBR.

I may be the minority, but I hated CBR. Thought it was way too spread out for my taste. Also did not care to be walking across a dimly lit parking lot at night to and from the bus stop. Found the check-in long and disorganized. By the time I had checked-in to the CBR, I was calling the Wilderness Lodge to see if I could check in any sooner. There are numerous bus stops and did not think that the pool was all that great.

My favorite moderate is Port Orleans French Quarter. Much smaller and better.

After lurking many weeks I finally started posting-- and what I think is the best post-- is-- "see it for yourself" and then decide-- I, too, am staying for the first time a CBR this December-- and am more than happy to try it out----

You will get opinions on everything and you just need to see for yourself--- you KNOW if it is on Disney property that it isn't going to be crappy--- I do like some resorts more than others-- but part of the fun is trying out new things---

If the walk is far-- DRIVE--- or not-- or dont get refillable mugs---

I guess the bottom line is not everyone thinks the same as you-- and has the same taste---

so go for it-- I am!!

Another thumbs up for CBR:) I love this resort, but have not stayed there since they began charging more for rooms in Martinque. I've only stayed in Martinique the five times we were there. It is close to the bus stop (first stop both ways) and close to Food Court.

Unfortunately, I've found the CM's at CBR to be the least friendly and/or accomodating (maye due to the size of the resort? They must be incredibly busy). Long check-in each time and so on...

I absoultey love the theme, all the flowers..it's beautiful!!

Now if I stay in a moderate I tend to choose POFQ due to it's size and it's been recently refurbished. Also, CM's at POR & POFQ treat you more like a deluxe resort - they are wonderful!

I enjoy reading all the opinions and experiences on this board, but it is wise to keep in mind that each resort has a theme which appeals to some and not at all to another. Some may have a magical experience , others might not. In 33 yrs the magic has always been there no matter what!

It's fun to try different resorts too - often one becomes a favorite and it's special to stay there.

Hope you enjoy wherever you stay!!

I'll be trying CBR for one night in March before my ressie starts at BWV. It will be a great chance to see how I like it without devoting a long stay to find out. :D

We stayed at CBR last August and liked it very much. Very laid back. My goal is to stay at all of the resorts at some point, end each one that I have stayed at thus far has its own special charm.

We stayed in Aruba and the quiet pool was very nice. I think it was a 10 minute walk to the main pool.

One last comment on CBR - Friends of ours stayed during Charley and they were treated very, very well.

CBR is absolutely LOVELY! It has a wonderful tropical and magical feel to it! We stayed in Jamaica when we were there and it was incredible......Jamaica was also the first bus to be picked up and we always had a seat!;)

I must say that I had some of the BEST mousekeeping ever while at CBR and lots of towel animals. My children loved the pools and the playgrounds.....my hubby and I loved laying in the hammock and watching the kids play on the beach. I love CBR and can't wait to go back!!!:sunny:

FYI-

CBR was refurbished and the resort shut down while they were doing it. It reopened at the end of Dec. 02 so it isn't even 2 years since the refurbishment.

Stayed at CBR with my girl (below), niece and her friend. Asked for a preferred room to be close to the main pool/food court (Port Royale?) anywho...even then it was quite a walk. the main pool was always crowded, though the kids didn't mind!

pros: room (was gorgeous!), pool bar, food selection, pool for every area, and detail to theme
cons: too spread out, multiple bus stops, crowded pool at ALL times

fun resort, but im looking forward to the french quarter
