So, for our trip this coming June we'll be staying at the BC...(and its our first time and we're so excited!!!)

I digress...

we'll be on the DxDP b/c DH enjoys the time to sit together as a family and I especially enjoy the a/c at lunch time out from the hot June sun and the fabulous dinners in Epcot!!

so, the morning we're going to HS, we're looking at trying the breakfast at the Captain's Grille at the YC, it gives us the sit down breakfast we're looking for, but without the time it takes to visit with the characters at Cape May..

I can't find a whole lot on here about Captain's Grille and I hope that's not because its not good!!

I really wanted to hear back from folks who have had breakfast here and if you got the buffet or ordered off the menu and what was tasty and what was not!!

THANKS!!

We decided to try Captains Grill for dinner on last year's trip since we were staying at Beach Club Villas. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!! It's now one of my new favorite places to eat at WDW! So on this year's trip (last month) we went there twice for dinner! Still love it!! Now, we have not been there for breakfast, but if the quality and selection is anything like dinner, you shouldn't be dissapointed! :goodvibes

They have a pretty good breakfast with a buffet if you choose buffet. You can also order off the menu. They don't have an omelet station but you can order an omelet as part of the buffet price. My dad got the biggest omelet I've ever seen. About $16 for adult buffet. I had mostly Mickey waffles with yogurt, bananas and honey. Sausage wasn't bad.

You don't hear much about the Captain's Grill because there aren't any characters, there's no theming to speak of, and it's a little off the beaten trail (it's popular with guests staying at Yacht/Beach).

Breakfast is very good. It may depend on your server, but if you opt for the buffet, they will usually bring you items from the menu if you want as well - such as the French Toast, which is excellent. Also, it's usually not very busy, so you normally can get in and out pretty quickly if you need to. Overall, it's a probably a very underrated restaurant.

According to my server (breakfast November 14) if you get the buffet, you can order the following from your server, although these items are not on the buffet:

Omelets
French Toast
Eggs other than scrambled

I don't know if there are other menu items that might be included with the buffet if you ask a different server, but those are the items ours gave us. If you want, you can order from the menu without getting the buffet, but the buffet seemed like a deal for Disney.

I ahd breakfast there for the first time during my trip last month. It was quite good, with a wonderful buffet and prompt and efficient service. Well worth a visit.

We ate dinner there last year and loved it. We were not planning to go there but decided at the last minute to give it a try. The food was excellent and our server was terrific. We intend to return.

YEAH!! Im so glad to hear that everyone enjoys it!! It almost makes me kinda sad that we're only planning on eating there once!!!

This is our favorite breakfast buffet (along with Boma) in all of WDW. Lots of food that is very hot & plentiful. It's much better quality food than the buffets at Cape May or Chef Mickeys, in our opinion. Here are pics:

WOW! those are great pics! thank you so much for posting them!!

I do have 2 breakfasts' planned for Cape May simply because we'll be staying at the BC - but maybe I should make only one there and then 2 for Captain's Grille...

hmmmmmm...decisions..decisions...:confused3

We also love the atmosphere here because it's so quiet & relaxing - as you can see in the pics there's no one else even at the buffet! There's so much hustle & bustle all day long that we like to sit & have a nice peaceful breakfast before heading out to the parks.

If you're looking for another CS - head over into Epcot - we actually really enjoy the breakfast at Sunshine Seasons in The Land Pavillion. It's not far from BC at all.

I want to try their breakfast when we go in January. It looks really delish!

We went there for dinner once and it was awful. We both had the strip steak (one regular and one in the bourbon or something marinade) and both were bad. It could have been an off night for steak.

The service was top notch!

We have had both lunch and dinner there and were extremely pleased! The food was sooo delicious and there was a nice selection of dishes to choose from! We also had terrific service both times. I would not hesitate to go back.

I believe our experience was the exception with our CG breakfast last year. We had poor service, I didn't think the food was that great, and it took forever to get our check to pay. However, the positives were that they take walk ups because they are rarely crowded, their buffet selection was great, and they have a nice peaceful atmosphere.

With that said, we are giving it another chance and are going back in February. With so many positive reviews surely this time it will be different! :goodvibes
